I finally bought a new sled. Sold my 00 mxz 700 and bought a 2001 mxz 800 with 144 studs and a HPS Stinger Silencer on it.
My question is will i be able to tell a difference in top end and if so how much. Also what is the HP rating on my new 800.

What is the max speed for my new 800?
And does it matter if there is a tiny crack in the new silencer?
I don't want to do any damage to it!!!

How many miles are on it? That is the year they had ring problems, so keep an eye on it. As far as the silencer I would get it repaired, not only will it get worse, but it will be louder than needed. Will it be much faster. I'm sure someone will disagree with me but..... I have an 02 700 and have no problem keeping up with the 800's on the trails. On the lake they creep away from me. I mostly ride trails so I really don't mind. I'm sure you will notice the difference, just not as much as you think. Awesome sled though. Good Luck with it. Ask the guy you got it from if he had the updates done. I think i remember someone saying the coolant bottle hoses could come loose so check that as well. MY 2cents
