I put bar ends in the bars and now the heaters don't work. 1st. I cut the ends of the grips off. 2nd. I had to drill out the rivets at the end of the bars so the hooks would slide in. Now I have no heat. What did I do? Is there some sort of ellement under the grip that I may have damaged? Please let me know if you have heard of this problem or have done it yourself. I would like to fix this before it gets cold.

Thank You...

I tried putting them in my 99. In that year they had the heaters run through the bars, out the ends and then a small pad wrapped around the bar. Either you pinched a wire sliding them in or cut a wire cutting off the ends. That would be my best guess.

you may have pinched a wire or damaged the heat pad somehow. They are pads on the ouside of the bars under the grips.

I have a full set of bars grips and heaters , wirining in a complete asm I took off my 00 700 mxz.

do you have a service manual??

you could use the wiring diagram and a ohm meter to trace back the open circuit.

withou a little more info and pics it is hard to tell what could have been damaged
