I AM PUTTING STUDS IN A 02 700, DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE FRONT DRIVE OUT TO PUT PROTECTORS IN. ALSO ITS HAS A WEIRD SQUEEL NOISE FROM THE PRIMARY CLUTCH, HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE.

A long drill bit and a steady hand will be sufficient to put the front protectors in. Take off the seat to install the tunnel protectors.
The squeeling from the primary I experienced last year and got help from this site. Remove your secondary and add one shim behind the three bolts located on the backside of the secondary. If your clutches are aligned properly and you have the proper belt, this will cure the problem. Shims can be bought at any Yamaha shop. :div20:
