drove out of town and walked into the ditch into a stubble field and there is a good 6 inches in the field. this is awesome!

environment canada has said we've had 10 - 12 inches of snow so far but because the ground is still warm lots has melted down or settled out. but still 6 inches of snow is lots enough for me. :div20: ill have to get some more pics out on a ride.

Went out for a little rip Monday night. I think it's better snow than we had all last winter. The ground is still soft, so the dirt lumps don't hurt. It was great to be sledding in October....I couldn't believe I was missing baseball playoffs because I was sledding....gotta love it!!!

It's been snowing lightly all day, again, here in P.A.
10 days after Thanksgiving and we have more than at Christmas last year.

Hey 94ZR580,
Have you had your sled out yet? I live at Christopher Lake and there are a few sleds ripping around here. I haven't had mine out yet. Need to go see Alan this weekend for a new clutch first. Noticed a crack in my spider after the last ride of last season. Probably would have blown apart if I would have gone one more mile.

My son and I were out yesterday and put on 42 miles ditch riding east of Edmonton Alberta. Not the greatest riding but the first ride never is. We took some photos. I will post them soon, they are on my home PC. Had the F7 up to 102 once on a hard packed stretch :beerchug: what a rush that is on the first ride. Riding in October is like a gift from God, we may get one more in yet before the snow melts.

No, I haven't even ruffled the cover on it yet. It is way too early to ride yet. There is not enough snow and I don't think the mud is good for the machine.
I stopped in to see Al last weekend. I wanted to check out the orange M7 in the yard. Did you you see the sled Al built for himself? T660 chassis, 156 1 1/4 track and 900 EFI motor. He'll be able to jump some stuble with that one.

 I just hope it snows half as much as it rained this summer and we should have a good season. I never would have believed it if anyone said the lake level would come back to normal in one year, let alone one summer.

Goofy weather this year, eh Terry. We didn't get hit nearly as hard as you, but what we have left just may stick around for the year. My brother tells us my little nephew sure enjoyed the big dump that hit Edmonton.

94ZR580,
There were a few days here where you could have rode the ditches, it would not have been great, but enough for a little taste anyways. I never did, but there were some sleds out.
I haven't done anything with mine yet either, but I got my new clutch and will be getting it ready pretty soon.
I saw Al's sled too, nice hey. My next sled will be a long track too, whenever that will be. Most of the people I ride with have them and for the kind of riding we like to do, they are perfect. For now, I would like to throw a deeper lug track on my ZR. If you know anybody that has a 121 track with inch and a quarter lugs that they want to sell, let me know.

I have an 1.25 track on my sled an it is great. You will not be disappointed when you get one. I too intend on getting a longer track sled when I get a new one. I went up to the cabin, on Christopher last Sunday, and I was surprised to see how many fields still had swaths and how many still were uncut. That is going to ruin a lot of the great field riding between P. A. and the lake. Snowmobilers are going to get a real bad wrap this winter for tearing up the swaths that the farmers will want to combine in the spring. A few idiots are going to make it difficult for the rest of us. :banghead:

Yeah, you're right about the field riding. Alot of them will be 'off limits' to the sleds this winter. I wouldn't want to be a farmer this year, looked so good early on and then it all goes bad near the end.

If you want new 1.25" x 121
Rec. Supply in Saskatoon has some new RipSaws in Stock. I didn't get a price but they got them on the floor.
Just got the Trail permits and oil.
Only waiting for snow now.

Looking at the ripsaw, it looked like it might not be as durable as some other designs, I picked up a 1.25 Predator at Agrisports in Regina for 500even. I doubt it is as good as a traditional lug design in deeper snow, but man does it grip harder surfaces. (Only had a chance to try out grass/4 inches of snow so far... hehehe.)

No riding here yet. Nothing more than a skiff. I don't even think there is really enough at La Ronge yet. You might have to go to Stoney Rapids if you want snow now.
