Full Version: Trouble comparing F-series to Sno Pro 500

When looking at the spec sheets on the AC website, I am finding it hard to see a major difference between an F8/F6 Sno Pro and a Sno Pro 500. Yet it seems like the two models are not at all grouped together.

It really sounds like the 500 is much more capable of banging ditches than an F-series but other than the weight difference, I can't see why.

Can someone help me understand.

Thanks.

wow...are you kidding ?????
Have you actually seen both sleds ????
Not even the same chassis............ the F is in...well, the F chassis with Cat's consumer version of rider-forward, etc....

The 500 SnoPro is in the race chassis that has been used for the previous 2 yrs exclusively by people in the race program (or those who bought them used afterwards) on the snow cross and cross country tracks.

Comparing apples to watermelons if you ask me.............

Just briefly the SnoPro is a completely different chassis. Race sled. The F chassis is heavier. and is actually more for trail riding/touring not racing. They call them snopros because of the shock package they have . Different from the LXR's. They use the name SnoPro to sex them up. But are not really made for what the 500/600 SnoPros do so well. Hope this helps.

I have not visited an AC dealer to look at them, if that's what you mean. I have only seen photos.

This was helpful. Thank you.

You don't have to go to the dealer to see the difference! The photos on the Arctic Cat website show two completely different sleds!

The f-series is arctic cats first attempt at a rider forward sled great riding position and big bump handling but it lacked the old zr style handling that everyone loved that rode ac the sled also got a little heavy. The new sno-pro has the zr style handling in a rider forward chassis with a great riding position and big (maybe that not the right words) huge bump handling capabilities and it is also lighter than the f-series. the only problem is it doesn't come with the larger engines

For some reason I think he is confusing the F5 snopro and the Snopro 500...especially since the F5 is only available in snopro trim this year.

I was in fact asking about the difference between an F snopro and the 500 snopro. I now know they are totally different machines. Or fruits.
