For those interested below is some info as of 10-14-04 on the new grooming club for the Gaylord trails, this info is from John Kress. For more info you can contact him at: jkress@gaylordlodging.com

Here is the info:
The new club is alive and moving forward. Several business owners banded together to start the new club, Gaylord Area Snowmobile trails council. The sole purpose of the new club is to ensure all the trails in the Gaylord area are groomed and well maintained.

We are working close with the DNR and the Grant information is complete and accepted into the DNR's grooming program. Grooming logistics and details are complete and the trails will be groomed this year. We have had several trail work days and approx. 35 % of the trails are resigned, brushed and are in great shape to ride so far. Several more trail work days are already planned and all trails will be ready by Nov 15.

This was a huge effort and the core folks involved spent alot of time and effort to make this happen. At this time we are not prepared to accept individual memberships but would rather accept donations and ensure all donations go directly to the grooming operations in the Gaylord Area. The new Club is setup under the Gaylord Area Convention and Tourism Board, donations should be sent to

Everyone who rides up there should remember those businesses who are supporting this new club !!! Gotta take care of the people who take care of us !!!

They will have the correct number of groomers for the amount of miles of trails they groom. Drivers are lined up but they probally wouldn't mind having a few more, just contact one of the officers if you would be interrested. They got the Indian River club to take over part of the grooming on #7 the Indian River club will go from Indian River to Perry Road, this is where the connector to chandler hills is.
