I am thinking I need to get out to the UP this year from Minnesota. Which places get the most consistant snow, the closer the better. Is the Hurly/Ironwood area a good place to start? I am looking for as much off trail stuff as I can get and as much white stuff as I can get. Any help would be appreciated.

I would say for the most off trail stuff in the UP would be from about Mass City to the tip of the Keweenaw. There are lots of powerlines and little lakes and fields to play in. Go to Johndee.com and ask him where to go and if you can take a guided tour with KSE in the Keweenaw.

Hurley/Ironwood area is party town but not much off trail riding. Need to head To the Keewenaw. Sheck out KSE snow tours on Johndee.com for sure.

So how much snow do they normally have out on the peninsula? I thought I read like 340" average? I am about half way between Keewenaw and the rocky mountans so I am split on where to go.

If you have the same drive time to get to the Keweenaw or the rocky's, HEAD WEST YOUNG MAN!! I have been out west only once, Cooke City, MT, and rocked! The sucky part was it took 18 hours to get there! Twin Lakes is 4 1/2 hours for me.
I would suggest Mass City and north to the Keweenaw also, stay away from Hurley/Ironwood area. To many drunks going to or coming from the strip clubs. Twin Lakes is my favorite place to go. Later, Sxrlar.

If I was that far west to start with,Id go for the Contental Divide Trail System. %00 mi of trail and more powder than the UP gets in 3 years!
