A lot of people have talked briefly reguarding replacing your VES valves with Titanium or Stainless ones. Is this somthing that is only necessary when moding the motor, or is it a recomendation because many people have had problems with breaking valves and destroying the motor? Should we just replace the valve, or is there other weak links? dunno.gif
Is this somthing to get through Polaris, or is aftermarket the way to go?
If aftermarket, any recomendations on who's to use, and/or where to get a pair?
Any ideas of cost?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to keep it together all season...
Thanks

if your still running the stock valves in the 800 change them..... the problem is more with 800 then 6 or 700's. I am not sure the problem is 100%cured with Ti valves but it has to be better! some think the E valves are not opening soon enough or all the way so they are changeing to a lighter spring also! I think the Ti kit come with springs I could be wrong?

My understanding is Polaris will warranty your current valves for stainless valves,
stainless valves come with different springs. Polaris has Ti valves for them as well but these are not covered under warranty, these valves come with springs and new bellow's as a kit.
Ti will be lighter, which theoretically would make it more responsive and the new bellow's material is suppose to be slightly better. The stainless ones will be heavier, but with the new spring should be just fine.
800 owners seem to be the primary target, 1 buddy swallowed a PTO valve and it just swallowed the motor. Another buddy just pulled his out and found a corner gone off of the MAG side valve (about 1/8 of the bottom corner), he pulled his motor and that cylinder had a cracked exhaust port and a small nick out just below the main exhaust port, so his dealer then ripped the bottom end apart and it also needs to be replaced, (he told me but I can't exactly say what happened in the bottom end, sorry) Polaris is covering this under warranty. My 1st buddy also got a new motor under warranty, he had to it was UGLY.
I am not sure about aftermarket valves?? If we all need them its just a matter of time before the performance shops start makin' them, you have to LOVE sledders we are a strange breed..
I have a 04 800 X2, both valves had gouges out of them down the side running surface of the valves one had heat mark’s on the lower stem of the valve, both will be replaced.

Good Luck, first I would talk to your dealer then take it from there.
