I really am more of a flatlander, but have an opportunity to buy a brand new 2002 ZR 800 mountain cat with the 144" track for $5299. Any pros and cons on this sled ? I will mainly be using it for playing in the powder. I have always wanted a longer track sled, and I think this is a great deal.

Pretty good sled i just got rid of mine this past spring. Is it an LE? Price seems a bit high even if it is new. It does lack the D&R which started coming on all mtn cat's in 03'. That and it's weight are really the only down falls.

Had one of those also. Not a bad sled. remove the swaybar on it and they will lay up on there side alot easier in the deep. The 03's with the DnR are alot lighter and perform alot better in the deep. But for a sled to head to the mtns everyonce and awhile its not a bad choice. I think the price might be a little steep even though it is new. I bought mine still in the crate in Sept of 02 for $5800. The 03's were on a show room floor. I think you should be able to negotiate to at least 4800 or 4700. The m's are on the floor and there are a ton of 04's brand new on the floors where I live. Just my thoughts.

I agree about the price. I haven't owned a Mountain Cat but I do know that they made a lot of improvements (drop and roll, weight loss, better bars) in 03 with the introduction of the 1M.

Cool, thanks guys. I thought it was a good deal for being new. Maybe they will come down once the buying sprees end.
