Follow the #1 rule of online shopping.

-Make sure the supplier has a contact phone number – ABSOLUTELY don’t buy SNOWMOBILE.COM parts that DO NOT have all the contact information. If the only way to contact them is e-mail or a P.O. Box. Any trustworthy company would have a contact phone number and an address other than a P.O. Box.

Unfortunately I didn’t follow the rules. I know I should have known better, but I use their trail report all the time and thought I would support the guy, my mistake. I ordered a windshield from them last winter and never received the windshield. Although I had sent MANY e-mail’s I have NEVER received a response. They still have about $70.00 of my Paypal money that I am sure I’ll never see again.

Also note that the same guy that I was ABSOLUTELY burned by also runs a ATV and a DIRTY CHEAP PARTS web sites

I won't name names, but I left HINTS as to their names. They are also a HCS website sponsor (see left side of home page)

Well I am getting closer to this guy. I used this web site's "sponsors links" page and fired off a nice letter (e-mail) to all his sponsors stating the facts of what happen to me. I recieved a phone call from a nice lady at one of the places and she gave me his name and number. Even though his snail mail P.O. Box number is in Turin NY leads you to believe that he is a Tug Hill local, His phone number is from New Jersey, go fingure (only about 400 miles away). I am unwinding for the weekend and don't want to stress myself out. I will call him monday and let you know how I make out.

If you paid with paypal, just file a claim with them. The seller must prove delivery, or paypal will "gladly" pull the money from him.

I recieved a phone call from a "Mike" about the "mixup". He said that he had trouble contacting me and never recieved any of my e-mails. He told me that he was sending me a check in the mail reinburse me. I am still waiting for the check (3 mailing days). I'll let you know what happens.

69 Scorpion - SWEET!!!!

Well I finally received a check Wed. before Thanksgiving. After a 3 weeks of waiting since he called me, I started to call him (one of his sponsors gave me his phone number). At first it was every few days, then everyother day, then every day for about a week. He called me and said that he was out of town (I was calling his cell phone - go figure!) and forgot to reinburse me for the taxes (NY) that I paid on the first check and being out of town he could not write another check until last week.

He did return my money PLUS and EXTRA $5.00 for my phone calls I had made. He also sent a jar of Zooke goggle anti-fog wax for my troubles.

Thats my story. (Happy ending - I guess) The guy did make good on the purchase so I can't slam him. Although it did take some legwork on my part to have my money returned.

As always BUYER BEWARE and shop smart. (at least smarter than I did)
