My families Doo's are all 02-03 revs and zx chassis 600,600ho's and 700s. All of them have between 2,500& 4,500 miles. I usually sell them with about 4000-5000 miles. With a good season (knock on wood) of 2000-3000 miles I will be in uncharted milage for me. With a 1 week trip planned to Gaspe Que. in March I don't want to have troubles. I guess the question is would 6000-7000 trouble free miles be alot to ask? They all receive excellent maintenance (bearings, chain lub, shocks rebuilt, raves, carbs) every year. I'm mostly concerned about the engines. What other things start going with that kind of milage?

You shouldn't have any problems. I usually keep my sleds till they have about 6000 miles. i currently have 6300 on my sled and am going for another season. A summer of racing killed my budget for a new sled. I hope to have 9000 on it by the end of the season. I am worried that it wont survive. I think you should be alset as long as you go ever the sled before the season starts.

My last 2 sleds had over 10,000 miles on them when I sold them. The last one I sold, a 99 ZR 600 still had an all original motor in it. No problems except for one failed stator.

Do a leak down test on the 600's to check the status of the rings! :div20:

Yo mamma, I'm aware of the 600HO ring problems, I have an extra set of rings with gaskets at home in case I develop a problem. All of them have about 132-135 psi compression. I thought that said everything. Isn't a leak down test done for crank seals problems? What equipment do i need to do it? Thanks everyone for your advice!
