Budget committee OKs driver's card for illegal immigrants

Illegal immigrants in Wisconsin not eligible for driver's licenses instead could get driver's cards that would give them limited rights under action taken by a Democratic-controlled committee.

The cards could be used only to drive. Other rights given to driver's license holders, like using it to board an airplane, would not apply to those with just driver's cards.

To get a card, an immigrant would have to prove they have lived in the state for at least six months, provide proof of identity and not be eligible for a Social Security number.

Gov. Jim Doyle did not propose the cards in his original budget. It was added by the Democratic-controlled budget committee and approved on a partisan vote late Thursday night.

Thats right because riding in a plane is so more dangerous than driving.

Now if this technique was used to round up the illegal immigrants and deport them, I would be all for it!! For instance;
"Hey illegals, come get your drivers license for free" and when they show up they are taken into custody and dealt with in a sever manner. Some cities use this technique to fulfill warrants, they contact the person with an outstanding warrant to tell them they won a prize, they have the person show up to collect their prize only to be arrested. I like the idea and think this tactic should be used to collect illegals and remove them from our country.

What part of the term 'ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT" do these politicians not understand? The illegals are not even supposed to be here! And now we are giving them more privileges than some natural born citizens are allowed to have?

I had a run-in with an illegal many years ago, he was drunk, and I found him attempting to accost my girlfriend. I "Handled" the situation promptly by removing him from the building and leaving him out on the lawn. Next thing I know, the police are trying to arrest and charge me with several crimes. It turns out this illegal is living on government handouts (read; My money that I paid in taxes) with a forged set of credentials and somehow he has more rights than me! Screw that!

Illegals get free health care too.

I know my wife has them come in every day to the clinic she works in. It is time to close the border a simple ten foot tall fence of razor ribbon and high power light system (powered by wind to keep the hippies from whining) a long with trained volunteer border control personal, That has the rights to shoot any one who is trying to climb the fence. Some may call me a red neck for saying shoot them if they are trying to border jump. But I am pissed off that the working class legal citizen has less rights than a illegal POS. My friend just got laid off he has a job since he was 15 and now is 33 paid into all of these taxes and he can not get free health care but some POS that jumps the border can. That is messed up. I have no problem if a immigrant comes here legally and can speak english.

I believe every other American citizen believes the same as you. Now if only the elected officials could stand up for the "We the people". Remember, if you know companies employing these illegals, stay away, don't give your money to them. If they were not finding work, maybe they wouldn't want to come here.

What i do not get is why these these companies don't get shut down for using illegals, they are breaking the law. What i would really like to see is when they have the day with out immigrant workers march down in milwaukee, and have INS down there deporting anyone who is an illegal. I mean they get to parade around town cause they broke the law, whats next a smoke crack parade. Breaking the laws of the state or government is illegal and should be dealt with accordingly.

Now don't take this wrong, I'm against Illegal Immigrants entering our country to take advantage of our laws/jobs/healthcare and other stuff...... But......Think way back, weren't we all Immigrants at one time, unless your a Native American?

yes at one time we were all IMMIGRANTS but it was diffent when my great gandparents came here. now there are rules and regulations that must be met. i am perfectly fine with a immigrant if they come legally and are a productive part of society.

Think way back. DO you remember anything from your Uniterd States History class? DO remember ever studying how this little thing called, "Ellis Island" operated? That is way back in the history of our Country- Not back to Colonial Ties but certainly back at least 140 years! Wow, you're smart.

illegal means a law was broken............. I guess now we should also reward all criminals.If you came here you illegally you should be deported not rewarded.

Ok, illegals can now drive legally! they collect benefits, And get free health care. they also work but no taxes are taken out of their wages (No SSN) but they are able to reap the benefits of us taxpaying public that gets nothing or free so we can just continue to work our asses off to take care of illegals and people that choose not to work.

We would all be better of if we were not born here, because we cold all get loans that we do not need to pay back to start a business, free education. Etc Etc.

Some radical militant groups feel there is an ever increasing chance of a 2nd civil war if this keeps up, A few years ago I would have thought them to all be crazy. Now I am starting to understand their point.

I had a discussion with my boss the other day about this illegal alien thing. He seems to think that as long as they have been here for a year, they should be allowed to stay and be legal from that point on. I put it to him like this. If I snuck into the Packer game for every home game for the past yera or two, should I be given a free ticket from now on? I went in illegally and didn't get cought, so after the first year it should be legal right?

On the liberal side of things, what better way to secure a few million votes?
