Anyone else get to see or hear about this? Heard it on the radio the other day that he approves of open carry and has sent a memo to prosecuters to clarify things. Thought it was intereting after the other post was on here about a guy that got pinched for doing nothing wrong. Of course on the radio they said there were still some police in certain towns that said they would tackle you to the ground if caught with a weapon. Shows their intelligence, or should i say lack of. Why would they go against what the attorney general has clarified and tie up the court systems with the crap when it'll never stick anyway. Oh well some people are just that stupid i guess. Here's a link to a story/video on it. open carry approval

Its the same as what has already been allowed prior. The AG simply came out with this opinion and was given to all law agency's in state. This is simply a clarification on what is and what is not allowed. This was due to the case in West Alliace (unsure spelling) that we had a discussion about several months ago.

Due to this coming to public attention this may in fact push the conceal carry to be passed. I think conceal carry would be a plus and should be passed.

I agree with you. The police chief actually makes some good points in that article. Yes, the A.G. was just clarifying and answering some questions people had concerning this issue, especially prosecutors. It SHOULD be pretty cut and dry now, but i'm sure some cops will go against what he says.

I agree, But if we finally get to conceal carry, and a vehicle is no longer considered concealment, we should still have the option to open-carry without any permits.
Please visit www.openCarry.org to get up to date on what places are off-limits to open-carry and to learn the laws involved so you do not accidentally break any laws and get charged with a felony.

Yeah, a guy better know where he can and can't open carry, because after this I'm sure the cops will be looking to hammer anyone they can out of spite. I'd bet they won't give any breaks either if you carried in a place you weren't supposed to and the old saying "ignorance is no excuse" would come into play. Especially since no cop EVER makes a mistake being perfect like they all are.(LOL)

Thank you, I was just going to look for CCW classes up here, I got my non-resident FL CCW packet in the mail this week.

Anyone interested in participating in an open-carry picnic in Mnocqua or Woodruff?? Pig-roast, cole slaw, beans, N-A drinks, and all you need to attend is a legally holstered sidearm and a voluntary $5.00 donation. Mid June, Torpy Park is the hopeful date and place, or Brandy Park in Woodruff.

many states offer CCW for non-residents, please take a look around and see which you qualify for.

Until we get CCW in WI, Open-carry is legal, so exercise your rights. Rules, No place where alcohol can be consumed on premises, no government buldings (library, Court, Police, fire dept) and 1,000 feet from any 1-12 school property.

www.opencarry.org for more details and to see if an O-C picnic is happeing in your area, A LaCrosse resident is hosting one next weekend.
