Hey guys, it sucks that you got screwed around by this moron, but please don't stop buying from canadian sellers all together. The vast majority are not out to screw you over. I sell alot of snowmobile stuff on ebay and I've never had a problem. I also buy a fair bit of stuff and have only had one negative experience with a guy from the US vastly overcharging for shipping but it didn't stop me from buying from the states. The key is to check the feedback and if the seller has more than a few negative feedbacks then don't bother even if the item is what you've been looking for and its a great price. Sellers with perfect feedback will almost never screw you around since they don't want to ruin their reputation. Alot of people will not buy from you if you have even 1 negative. Also report this guy to ebay. they may not do anything now, but if enough complaints are made against him he will be banned.

Really you have to look at the content of those negative to give a fair assesment of the buyer.

I have 7 negs, am I a bad seller?

Lets see.
Neg #
1: Bidder did not pay
2: Bidder did not pay
3: Bidder did not like the color (never contacted me, and color was listed in the auction)
4: Bidder did not like the condition of the item. (damage was listed and pictured, again he never contacted me.
5: Bidder did not pay
6: Bidder did not pay
7: Bidder did not pay

Yep I am a bad seller. Don't bid on my stuff.

As a seller you really run into some wacko's. I think there should be a seperate board for "ebay buyers that drive you nuts" veryangry.gif

So just looking at the number of negs is only a part of the picture.

My 2cents :beerchug:

I will not buy from Canada based people again.

Thanks, now I can get stuff from canadians cheaper because you will not be bidding on them

I agree, you can't judge all of Canada because of one bad apple. I just got a heck of a deal from a guy in canada :beerchug:

Todd,
Not to come down on you, but the auction number should be in all correspondance. Without that he may not have a clue what you did bid on. Some of these sellers run a LOT of auctions, and non auction transactions.

Sorry, but that is a pet peeve of mine when a buyer emails without any information, and then we have to spend time trying to figure out what auction he purchased.

Giving a number just makes it easier for both parties. smiley-faces7.gif

Check out my feedback from e-bay. I am a Canadian and I have NEVER screwed anyone. I have got charged 14 bucks US for shipping on an item and it cost the guy 2 bucks to ship. thats life and thats the way it works. Don't give up on Canadian e-bayers.. Rammer!!

Well !!,where to begin ,he buys a Hymark brand helix off Ebay Aug 10th from me, I email him congrats and how to pay on Aug. 10th. I never hear from him till Aug22 that a payment was sent by 3 day mail (still no info or auction # in the email), says he'll sent payment via 3 day mail service, complains about customs, and asks ;has his M/O arrived?. (whos M/O?, we do 100's of internet sales monthly) Aug 26th I get this M/O (sent reg mail, not 3 day like he said) with No info of what item# or UserID or Discription of what the payment is for !! and get this !! his address on the letter and the address on the payment were totally two different addresses !!! (see below) So Aug 27th we were going over the payments when my wife noticed a similar zip code from a unpaid helix auction (Ebay gives zip codes of buyer ID's for shipping rates )and one of his payment addresses . So I email the buyer of the helix to see if it was Todd Higgins and asked for his correct address. I never got a dierect reply ,just Ebay's checkout email that confirmed who he was and that the part was his. (He should have done that from the begining!!! I shouldn't have to be a detective to find payments) I have never heard back from him to this very day, not knowing if he recieved it or wasn't happy with it. Then out of nowhere I get a negative feedback from him, with no email or notification in advance there was a problem. So I assumed he wasn't happy with it as I see he has a Ski-Doo Rev . The helix he bought was for a HYMARK brand roller clutch helix kit ,these were never made for new Rev type clutches, so the helix won't fit. My auction clearly states the helix fits Hymark roller clutch kits only. Now I find out he's slandering my business on forums like this one, and I hear that he says he never got his part. Well it sure would have been nice to hear that from him!!! , it would have been replaced or credited if he would have emailed me of a problem!!!(I will replace it as I'm an honest guy, if he would ask !!! ) I am advised not to go into detail of our legal proceedings against Mr Higgings ,this web site or the Ebay Safeharbour complaint to have Thigg68 Ebay account cancelled as he has violated Ebay's Trust and Saftey rules. Below is the attached copy of Todds payment/auction sheet (sent 9 days after end of auction!!! via reg. mail!!) Email me if you need further info, I belive in honesty and integrity and my feedback speaks for itself. I will defend my reputation to the extent of the law at all costs. I've sold over 6500 items on Ebay with only 6 Neg including this one, not to mention countless items over the net. I own and operate a snowmobile/motorcycle shop (new, used parts, service) for over 15 years in the Okanagan valley B.C. and have a great reputation . To the webmaster and forum moderater, do not delete this defence reponse message or further action will be taken against your company. Thanks ...... Jim Bing Redline-Rec

Oh and to ZRMann53188 I'm still waiting for your apology,to advoid legal action for your part...... maybe you forgot or were just mistaken, it takes a big man to admit when they are wrong, (I've been there done that). My Reputation is at stake here and I know you are a good guy, so lets make this right..... Jim

Cut the crap redline...its one thing to point out a guy was wrong...which you did...its another thing to threaten litigation on someone who said he didn't recieve a refund but did....I understand you seem to be in the right here and strive to look at things in an objective manner....so why wouldn't I do business with you?? The reason is .....YOU....anyone who throws around the threat of litigation over a small matter such as the one you have with zrman53188 ....simply cannot be trusted to do business with. I do own a business and I don't take litigation against someone lightly...apparently....you do. If you were to start litiagation over this matter only one word comes to my mind.....frivelous!!

As for the other guy.....if what you said is true (you offerred no proof....and neither did he) .....you are in the right....although litigation might be a little over the top in this matter too.

OK,you have a point with ZRman53188,I should have waited for him to respond and not be so harsh on him, As far a Todd goes damage has been done, I'm not going to have my name slandered , and yes I do take litigation seriously. (legal action is not always involving a lawyer or court, it can be invoking legal site rules and regulations such as account suspensions of violators of said sites) outright melicious slander is not an issue to be taken lightly and never should be. What price is your integrity and reputation worth ? I happen to value mine. No one should get away with this type of personal attack, Todd has never emailed me since Aug 30th to say he had a problem with it or that it never showed up, send me your email address and I'll forward you all the emails and a photo of his payment with the incorrect addresses and missing info reguarding the auction. I'am an easy guy to deal with, I offer top quality parts, my feedback speaks for itself, and if I make a mistake I will be the first one to admit it given a chance. This would have never happened if Todd would have emailed me and told me there was a problem ,I would have helped him out, even though he refused the insurance option for the helix if it was lost, as I have done this for others on low cost goods. I belive buyers should get what they pay for and will do my best to make that happen given a chance. Anyway I apologize to all you guys and HCS for getting carried away in my maddness today. I should have kept my comments to just the facts, like I was supposed too. I guess I can be a bit of a redneck at times ,I will Let Ebay deal with him first and see were it goes from there. Thanks and HCS you have a great site. Jim

Ps:dude you may want to use the spell check option.

There in lies my problem in finding fact.
What do you mean by FURTER action?
Do you have legal proceedings ongoing with HCS?
We must assume by your comments that you do.
Unless of course you do not. dunno.gif
As for the creator of this post, I have found that swearing at someone and calling them names rarely (if ever) has a positive effect.
