Exit #279 off of I-75 and turn right about 1/4 of a mile down the road will be Mama Leonies on your right, the parking lot is huge and the trails take off from the back of the parking lot.

I"d head up farther north if I were U. Gaylord is VERY busy on the weekends, trails are usually junk. I'm originally form the Houghton Lake area and we would often try and ride gaylord trails. Junk on weekends, pretty good during the week.

Normally we would head farther north but the funds are gonna be tight this year so we have to stay a little closer to home.

Hey drift, where did you live in Houghton Lake? We have a cottage there and ride there as much as possible. Your right the trails near Gaylord are trashed on the weekends. We usually ride around Starvation Lake and up to Millersburg-Indian River and back. Once you hit Fredric it's down hill from there, only go through Gaylord if necassary!
