Looking for some information that anybody may have. This last summer I saw many dirt bikes around the parking lot of the Gandy Dancer In Danbury, Wi. My question is: does anyone know what the legalities are, can any bike ride, are 2 strokes ok, Is there a lot of trails, do you just need an ATV pass? If anybody can help that would be great.

I know there are dedicated bike trails around the Black River Falls, Rock Dam, Hatfield, etc. area. I may be wrong, but I think bikes can ride the ATV trails there too, but not vica-versa. I know for sure that ATVs can't be on the bike trails.

There is also bike legal trails in the southern section of the state. From Monroe to Mineral Point and Belmont. This is pretty boring though as it's just old railroad grade. I'm sure there are other areas. but these are the ones I'm familiar with.

In Wisconsin you register bikes for trail use just like a quad. Click here https://jc.activeoutdoorsolutions.com/wihf_...s/app/goHome.do

Doesn't matter 2 or 4 stroke, just as long as the exhaust is spark arrested & Forestry legal.

Not many places to ride our 2 strokes anymore. I find it sad, I rode the Black River Falls area long before ATV's were thought of, and now I can't ride the trails.

Thank you, I used to ride those trails also, I would ride just west of Neilsville, Wi. That wasnt Jackson County can you still ride dirtbikes there? also does anyone know about Burnett or Douglas county in NW Wisconsin, We have a cabin there so the convenience factor plays in affect.

The Gandy is closed to ATV's and dirtbikes in the summer. ATV's are allowed to ride it in the winter on the snowmobile trail. They were trying to change that but I don't think it's going to happen. Something about Federal regulations and money.
The bikes in Danbury are crossing the border into MN were it's legal to ride. It's only about 1/4 mile out of Danbury to MN. There are plenty of bikes that do it. My cousin took my YZ250 to Danbury and over to Mn last year.
North of Danbury in WI, you can ride ATV's but not bikes as far as I know.
I work in Siren, WI so I hear all the news on the ATV's and snowmobile trails

Someone must not of told the 50 guys riding ATV's and dirt bikes parked there every weekend. (I have a cabin there) I don't know what the rules are but I am betting it's not illegal.
