Cross your fingers they don't multiply, those bastards destroy deer populations quicker than wolves. Colorado is full of them and we have no deer.

It sure looks like it's been eating good!

So the DNR finally admits it? WOW!!

There has been cougar sightings near Presque Isle for years, DNR says "nope, they do not exist, put down the crack-pipe" One gets hit by a car, DNR still says they do not exist, it is someones escaped illegal pet.
The sound of a cougar is unmistakable, and several people have report hearing them near Hayward for some time now.

I saw one when heading home from Crooked Lake 4 years ago ,right by Sunrise. We had one hanging around here this fall. Several people in the area saw it. DNR even made a trip down our road with a large trap!!! Wonder what they were lookin' for? There was one down in Mountain after the one seen here, guessin' it was the same one. There has also been a black one sighted in Townsend. Let's just say we had a tight watch on our dogs and kids for a while!!!

could be the reason why i haven't shot a deer since I started hunting.. or just bad luck

If they are in the area the deer move out. The one we had was seen several times in a couple weeks. I feed the deer and I didn't see one for at least a month when that mountain lion was around. After the cat moved on ,the deer came back.

I want to hunt one some day. I think a full mount of one would be pretty cool......

I have a friend whom lived in Idaho said they were thicker than hell there. They are not very afraid of anything, he had been stalked by one many times, as well as his son.

When I was growing up, (15 years ago) we lived by Gays Mills, Wi. My dad use to see a cougar when coming home riding at night down our hillroad off the ridge. He said it was a big cat with a long tail. Surveyors saw the same thing. Kinda made me not want to play in the woods too much!!!
cmscat50
Well no wonder we don't see as many deer as we used to. This cat roams our hunting area! Lol.

I was just talking to my uncle this past weekend. He was part of the forestry service in Florence and said he has seen them before. My grandpa lives on HWY 101 and said he saw one too. My Mom saw one last summer while she was taking a walk with my little bro near Lake Hilbert. But supposedly they dont exist in WI right???

I cant see how the DNR thinks when other people (besides DNR) see them, they are full of shit somehow. Like no one knows what a huge fricken cat looks like??? Come on....

That is probally partially to do with wolves too! ^^

i know for a fact, havent seen but can hear and see tracks every winter that there is a cougar near were i use to live (chaseburg, wi) not only that there is unknown to the area species of snakes.

That's not too far from my house. After speaking to local officials, I guess they have a range of about 500-600 miles. Most likely passing through the area. Quite the talk of the town for awhile.

8-10 years ago the Sawyer county Record had pictures taken of a black Cougar on the Spider Lake golf course East of Hayward, many folks golfing there saw it.
Louies Landing resort on Moose Lake has several pictures of Cougars from game cameras near here.
Here's a picture of my daughter from about 15 years ago with a cub she caught and later let go. I have several more pics of it.

How did she get to be so good looking? Are you sure she's yours? Got any pics of the milkman? There might be a striking resemblance.(LOL)
