FMF sells packing matrial I know for dirt bike silencers. Do a Google for FMF and try to find their website.

You can order the packing material at any good shop that repairs 2-stokes. As a matter of fact I just ordered some for my D&G silencer,

You can use plain yellow fiberglass insulation, it just won't last as long.

The yellow insulation trick lasts about 1 ride. I tried it to my Aaen pipes on my old TX440, back in the 80's and after a few good blasts on the lake, it was spitting out chunks of burning insulation. It went from semi quiet to extremely loud in a couple hours. Stick to the material used to pack silencers on dirt bikes from any dirt bike dealer. It wont burn.

Any dealer can get it from Parts unlimited or HPE.

You better factor in the cost of earplugs all winter.....My MBRP race can on my old XC7 was ignorantly loud.sounds horny for the 1st 50 miles.then pretty much unacceptable.
Is it an old can that is riveted together or the welded construction?
The riveted ones are pretty easy to repack...the welded ones are not worth the effort. MBRP used rivets early on and then switched to welding them.
