Looking to see who is going up for this weekend. Havn't heard from anyone in awhile. I'm heading up for a 4 dayer. Not sure if i'm leaving after bowling wednesday night, or leaving early thursday morning. Will be there thursday through sunday morning. Who wants to meet up. I'll be looking to do a mix of lake running, trail riding, and off trail. Hope to see you all up there.

as of right now. i am planning on coming up with 2 buddies, however. my one buddy just bought a house. my other buddy already had vacation for last friday and isn't sure if he can get off for next weekend. right now it is 50%-50%. i am going to tomahawk this weekend with the anticipation that it will be my last ride for the year. if things work out for next weekend, great, but i am not holding my breath.

I believe a group of seven will be coming up friday through monday. Are there a decent amount of trails or is it mostly boondocking? I wouldn't mind tryin some off trail but I'm sure some of the people I'll be with would prefer trails. Not trying to butt into your group just stating we'll be up there.

This weekend, or the next? The more the merrier, doesn't matter to me. Unless we get dumped on here at home, i'll be up there. I typically like to change it up when i ride White Pine. I mix it between trail riding, lake running (i have read the lake is rough at the moment) and off trail. My f-7 snopro can hold it's own off trail. It's no mountain machine, so i can't get carried away, but it's good enough if you know what your doing. How do you know Pat?

I may decide to do the Copper Harbor run. We'll see. That will be a long day for sure. I know White Pine to Houghton and back is a 250 mile run. Tack on at least another 75 for copper harbor.

last year it was 340 miles i beleive. i think it took us 10 hours. that was with stopping a couple times and also needing to make a rather large loop to get gas, which i wouldnt think we would have to do this year. also, this year, if i go, i have the trip logged on my gps as a route, so it will save some time.

We ride from Wakefield to Copper every couple of weeks. That whole run back and forth is only about 340 miles without going to Highrock. We just throw a few extras in the pockets just in case we decide to stay up at Copper for the night. They have a little liquor store and a couple of decent restaraunts and quite a few motels. It is worth the trip in my view.

I have the truck on jack stands in the garage right now. I've been working like a dog on it after work all this week. I was having major issues with the steering. Replacing all the front end steering components. Currently there is no steering in it at all. All the pieces are laying on the floor. Still got to get the steering box out yet so i can change the pitman arm. Scheduled to get new tires put on and an alignment on Tuesday. Hopefully that plan works; unfortunately, the trailer can't pull itself up north.

i would think that we would still come up. there has to be a lot of snow and i think that one warm day shouldn't hurt too bad. weather channel has 37 and rain showers on thursday, but back down to 34 and snow on friday?!!??! i would think that anything lost on thursday would be made up thursday night or friday. if anything, i will just stay at my cabin in tomahawk and catch up on some things that need to be fixed their.

Take a look at the thread I started in the michigan sub forum. Sounds like it will be closed as of the 5th. Not sure if the Konteka will be ready to go by then or not. I'd plan on bringing a couple 5 gallon jugs. Bergland isn't too far away, and that's my favorite trail ride anyways. If the trails are good, takes 20 minutes to get there. Truck is all set to go. Z is back together and ready to go. So i'm all set. Weather doesn't look any better imo, both thursday and friday are going to be warm now. There is no doubt there will be substantial snow loss. I'm going up one way or another. If the trails turn bad, i'll go off trail. Good thing is, the warm days aren't until we get up there, not like it's been warm since monday or anything. I would plan on doing some trail riding on friday for sure. Saturday, not sure. I know plenty of off trail fun spots to tool around on if the trails are marginal. Not going in and out of trees boondocking either, i'm talking wide open areas to hold it too the bar. I'm taking off sunday mid morning.

yeah, we are leaving thursday around 6:00 pm. my buddy loaded the sleds already though. i will just have to bring a couple 6 gallon gas cans to insure that I can have a full tank for the saturday run. haven't checked the weather in a day or two, but that does not sound good. shouldn't be too bad though, one day isn't going to kill the trails i wouldn't think.

I did 110 last weekend and it only took 9.2 gallons. still had almost 3 gallons in there yet. i agree that running it that close isn't the smartest. not fun to be stranded or hurt the sled. i am pretty sure that we topped off in twin lakes last year. then we stopped somewhere south of copper harbor at some resort place because Matt couldn't make it all the way to copper. on the way back i am pretty sure that we made it all the way to houghton before getting gas. then i think we stopped in ontonagon before heading back to white pine.
