Just arrived in West Yelly. Got our Montana and Idaho tags and a short 25 mile scoot in. Beautiful here! Snow is way down compared to last year. Still plenty to ride though. Not many riders here at all! Almost a ghost town compared to years past. Will be riding the park on Tuesday. Will be sure to get plenty of pics up. One thing I have to say is that it sure does suck loosing about 25 horespower!! Oh well, 7000 ft will do that. Should have brought the turbo I guess.

Had a great day of riding. Put on about 225 miles. Having problems with my pc/camera so I cant post anything yet. Working on that. Saw some incredible sceenery today. Rode mostly in Idaho. Got some great shots of the Snake River, Mesa Falls. Rode to Alston,Idaho and back to West Yellowstone. Will ride the Park tuesday, then off to the Big Horns for a day of riding. After that to the Black Hills for another day of riding and back to Wis. Hoping for around 1500 miles, but we will see.

Are you renting a sled for the park or are they letting qualified machines in with a guided group?

Rode about 150 miles today. Went to some incredible spots, but had white out conditions so no chance at pictures. Two Top Mountain and Lion Head Mountain, Big Sky. The F7 held its own in the "rookie powder." Hard pack steep runs were a blast all the way up to 8500 ft. Park tommorrow. Kind of a joke what's going on out here. My dad is running a 2002 t660 which he has had in the park numerous times. They told me they wouldnt let me in with it because it is older than 4 years old and is not BAT or best available technology? We will for sure be getting the facts about this. Anyways, I will be riding a TZ1 for the geyser ride tomorrow. Should be great, never been in the park.

My wife and I bught a 2006 T660 and stopped at West Yellowstone Xmas 2006. We weren't allowed in the park then. One outfitter was going to let us tag along with a group, but the reservation desk wouldn't allow it. Called the park rangers and they said as long as our machine was on the list(which it was) we could go in the park as long as we were with a certified guide. The reservation desk has all the power and they work for the dealers that rent the sleds. Go figure!

I was there with a group between XMAS and New Years Eve 2006. The rules were no more than a group of 10 sleds and with a guide. Set by the park service.

Yes and only rented machines were allowed in the park.

Park ride was very nice. Rode the T660. Old faithful and back, with stops along the way. 75 miles total. After doing a little research, NPS website lists all current approved sleds for yellowstone. Anything older than 6 years old is SOL. But I agree the guide services totally are running the show. I had a great time and got a picture of a wolf 30 yards away. Today we drove to the Big Horns and rode 120 miles. Unfortunetly, the last 12 for me was getting pulled by my dads T660. Smoked a chain, and possibly a sproket so tommorow will be for a quick repair. Trails here in wyoming are great. Will ride here another day, and possibly head to the Black Hills for a day. Weather there doesnt sound great. It sounds like northern wi could get some white stuff? Sweet!

Another great day of riding in the Big Horns. 150 miles total. Got the sled fixed by noon and running. We are now going to ride the southern end of the big horns tommorrow and try to get the black hills ride in on Saturday. Around 700 miles so far. Big Horns bar none the most incredible sceenery I have ever got to experience on sled. Have a little work to do when I get home with one of my SD cards. Card error says I have no pictures left. Have to do a little data recovery. Anybody got any helpful tips? Thanks.

Met up with some friends from Forest County and rode the Black Hills today. Totally unique area and riding. Hills, valleys, miles of meadows, powder. Great riding. Put on a quick 100 miles. Staying the night in Sturgis and will be back in Laona tomorrow night hopefully. Great trip overall. Didnt reach our mileage goal but managed 800 miles. Will do my best to get some pictures up next week.
