anyone useing aftermarket motor mounts or brackets to keep your clutches lined up? Not that my lightly moded 700 is pulling hugh power but last season may riders wrote in about belt problems ? So what are you doing about it? how easy was it to install? was it worth the money?

When I did the first alignment check on my belt, I found the engine base plate was warped/bent. My belt only lasted 500miles. I had no desire to pull the motor to fix it, so I just shimed the mounts until the primary was square to the secondary. 800 miles on a new belt with little wear and no problems. :div20:
IMO you will gain more by using the aftermarket torque arms vs. new mounts. You can find a link to some in the prox 800 04 thread, post number 18.

Toward the middle of winter my proX started eatting belts. I thought it was the supposed "bad batch" of belts that Polaris had. Come to find out the two front motor mounts had ripped. The PTO side mount had ripped completely in half with the MAG side badly torn. Rpm fluctuations became a problem with the torn mounts. I tried to solve it with heavier clutch weights. That only became a band aid. I also had a lot of difficulty with poor top speed and eventual acceleration problems. The sled went from dominating most drags to a complete turd.Another clue that the motor mounts are bad is when the torque stop becomes damaged from the shifting motor.

I lost the PTO mount on the front late last season and it is still under warrentee and it is going back to the dealer on the 31st,and if I understood him correctly there are going to put a front mounted tourqe arm on it(like the aftermarket one that you can buy for around $30)maybe it is somthing that polaris is aware of now and they are addressing the problem for the sleds that are under warentee still

I have a 03 pro-x 700 with no mods at all it's bone stock.in 4200 miles I have blown 2 belts ,but the last belt exploded .I took it into my dealer for a check up and all was well.each belt lasted around 2500 approx which I think is great considering how the machine is riden.but I think I will check out my mounts just in case!plus the dealer has given me new belts under warranty so I'm happy!

I found the front clutch side mount ripped this summer in my 04 ProX8. Blew a few belts last winter and was chaulking it up to bad belts. It even ripped with the solid front torque stop I had in the sled from new.

So what aftermarket torque arm is everyone using?
A push mount or a pull mount?
What about the side push one I think SLP offers?

I got both the pto and mag side aux motor mounts from SLP. You will need to check your clutch offset after you put the PTO side on , you need to loosen the 4 factory mounts and remove the nuts from the PTO side so you can lift the motor the get the new bottom bolt in..... so be prepaired to check ofset and distance... Its a good idea anyway!
