Hey DW, How did you end up in Wooster? Nice little town. There are some P.A. guys here too. What area is your cabin in ?
Why else do guys move? A woman! She's from here and I moved over before we got married back in 93. There are some PA people here too, even from the same area as I'm from.
Cabin is just a few miles from a connector trail on the south end of the loop. Cabin is the primitive type with no plumbing, so a lot of people are turned off by that.
I also ride a lot down in the Laurel Mountains as I have a friend that lives there and knows all the local trails besides all the state marked ones.

Lincoln Highway Homes packed up and left town a couple years ago. Nothing there but the one that used to be the office.
The Winter Storm Warning looks good for you in Bucyrus. 8"-16" by Thursday evening. They say the heavy line is from Cleveland to Mansfield to Marion.

Well......so far we've gotten around 10" and there now saying could have a total up to around 16-20....I'm right on the Crawford(Bucyrus)/Marion county line.....and now the wind is getting strong....according to weather.com it's at 16mph.....major drifting going on....my son and I was out earlier and it was nothing but a plow on the sleds....but was still fun, just waiting for day break so we can see where in the hell we're going instead of having snow flying over the sleds!!!

Update - We did a very quick 75 miles. Rode from Pymatuning to the Greenway, almost to Warren, Oh. and back. We're getting a mix of freezing rain now which is keeping the fluff down. Trails are awesome!! The back roads which aren't plowed are "to die for" !! Supposed to turn to all rain by morning. Yuk ! Tons of snow up this way though.

Have not been back out since the other night. We had an incredible amount of rain come down after we got in and most of the next day. We had so much snow though that I don't think it hurt the trails too bad. Maybe made them a bit icy with the big cold snap right now. I know it knocked the crap out of our back road riding!

I was up along I-80 between Grove City and Franklin. I ride a lot down in the Laurel Highlands as a friend of mine lives near Thomas Mills on route 985. He rides and helps create and maintain a lot of the private trails north of route 30 above Walets.

Walat's is 30 minutes from here, we usually unload their or at a friends house on 985. Those trails and fields are nice when the posted trails are buisy and beat up. Wanted to ride on sunday but the rain took the snow. Next time your heading this way let me know.

Hi,
My name's Frank. Moved from Massachusetts to Northeast Ohio a little over a year ago. Been riding sleds since 1965, mostly in NH, Vermont and Maine. Last year I made a few trips to Colebrook and Pittsburgh, NH but need to find out where to ride out here.
I'm hoping to get up to Michigan this winter and would like to get together with a small group who know the area and accommodations.
I have (2) '03 Yamaha's now; an RX1 and an SX Viper. I've had both Polaris and Yamahas for years now. My son is back in Masachusetts and is eager to visit and ride.
Maybe we can get a small group together for a trip soon?
Best regards,
Frank

I think it would be cool to know who is out there and where you are from.
just list your name and location and what sled you ride, or whatever else you want to say.

Hey catrules2000 let me know when the lake freezes and you guys get together for some racing. I'll bring some friends and come up hopefully we can ride up.
If theres enough snow, if not we'll putem on a trailer and come up. BTW we always ride the poker run thats when they have it. We're only about 30mins south of the pond. Watch out for stumps then again with all the rain probably dont have to worry about them.

Live half way between cleveland and akron. There use to be some nice farms and horse trails to ride when i was growing up around here, now it's all $900,000 homes. Oh well, thats what trailers are for i guess. Spent the last 3 yrs. in the Tug Hill area, goin to the U.P. here shortly for obvious reasons. Wish there was still some open land around here, all the snow was pretty much wasted.

Hey Manson, there has been way to much rain so far for Grand Lake St. Mary's to Freeze up. All of the local streams and rivers run into it and the main Spillway and just pouring over. All that in a nut shell means there is a lot of current underneath whatever Ice is there and it is VERY UNSAFE! I will let you guys know though if we do get another good Freeze on it.
Hey everybody, make sure you say hi to Prick......I mean Wink......lol
He and I have ridden together for numerous years now. He started riding a couple years after I was born which menas he is old......lol Just messing with you Randy! Streetsboro, OH -- Yup, totally understand how there "used to be trails until they built homes" -- the one's that went up around here weren't $900k, though, only $300k...
My "ten year anniversary diamond" is my 2002 ZR600 CCLE EFI
His latest acquisition is a 2005 F7 Sno Pro (orange)
I had a 2000 ZL 600* that got wiped out in an I90 bridge incident on our way home from one of our favorite quick getaways in Chautauqua County, NY. Our other quick getaway spot is the Allegheny's (usually stay at a friend's cabin in Tionesta or mostly at a motel on the trail in Marienville). Our annual BIG trip will be Jan 29 - Feb 5th when we visit friends in Christmas MI.
*By the way, I think if I still had that ZL600 I probably would've sold it and wouldn't be riding sleds anymore. I had to fight to keep it going straight and it's a trail sled. I thought it was just me until I got my ZR... WORLDS of difference!

Hey Mike, I'm from Van Wert too! Age 44. Just got into sledding about 3 years ago. There's a snowmobile club in town. They meet the first Sunday of every month at the "I Don't Care" Bar & Grill. :beerchug: I think the meeting starts at either 6:30pm or 7:30pm. I'm going to try to make it to the meeting this Sunday night. If you're there, introduce yourself. Also, there's a 25 mile trail over in Hoagland Indiana. It's about a 25 minute drive from Van Wert. Didn't know if you'd heard about it yet. Look me up sometime, I work at Wells Fargo. My current sled is a 2003 570Z, but I'm getting ready to trade it in on the new Cat 4-stroke (Jaguar Z-1).
