At the moment I have a 1998 xc 700. I love my sled but I hurt my back and now I have to upgrade for a better ride. I know that the fst will ride better bu how will it compare in power. my 700 is ported piped and clutched. What would it take to get a new fst to have the punch of my old sled or more. I dont want to do it but would I be better of getting a yamee apex gt.

WE have a 06 fst classic and 06 fst switch. Brother has had 06 vector.The vector was not nearly as fast as fst,s . So he had to buy an 07 apex.Now he can get by us after about 90mph. My son bought my 02 700 edge. He never gets pass us.

I rode a'08 600 Dragon last winter and now I have a Turbo Dragon. I don't think the turbo is lacking any power. It is afun sled to drive. It always feels like you're going faster than you really are.

my elans feel like i am going faster than i am too though. a 500 fan would be fine on most of the trails around me but out on turkey pond its nice to be able to pretend I can sort of hang with the biger dogs. some of them 300 hp though so its a joke when i line up with them but I do my best.

Save your money and run your Elans. They must be close to 300 H.P.

Next time you go to turkey, look for a BIG guy on a 07 Orange FST(thats me) and you can take it for a spin. I really like it for trail riding and it will hold its own on the lake.

thanks for the offer!!! sorry for taking so long to get back to you I just got a new puppy and the only down time i get is when she is sleeping. i am thinking of going this week end. just to watch though my back still wont handle ridding.
