This is a accouple of pictures of my summer project. I put on 136 inch Ripsaw with Tracks USA extensions, had some parts sandblasted and pwder coated, and put a tank, seat and handlebars from a GEN 2 XC. Along with all the other previs additions such as Fox Shocks with clickers on 3 of the shocks and the front track shock has a ront touque arm adjuster, roller secondary, V Force reeds and clutched.
Have a great summer Kirt

Thanks, the hardest part was tracking down the parts, tank seat handlebars. I was able to sell the old parts so the overall investment was not that much.
With the resale of sleds now days I just could not justify selling it. It has almost no miles on it and it runs great so I decided to longtrack it.
I have a couple of small items left to do, decalls.

Very cool!!
Considering the same project for my PROX7.
Have you ridden it yet? If so how do you like it? Compared to the short track setup? Are you trail riding or off trail riding mostly?
Again.....VERY COOL!!

No I have not I just got it back together this weekend, I had a long track XLT when they first came out and always thought it rode smoother, my wife has a SKS 500 and it has the old ITS suspension and it rides nice. As far as handling I thought it was a none issue I could keep up with my buddies then when we got to the deep snow it was a different story.
I ride 50/50 on- off trail.

Dave, yes that is the sled I put the bottle on. Track Ext. It was from Tracks USA, I got the snow skirts from Polaris. I do not think I will stud it, try it first with out.

Looks real nice. Just curious though, if you bought a different seat, why didn't you go to a Boss seat??

I had a one piece seat and tank before and found a good deal on both.

One thing I noticed with that seat/tank combo on my 00 Gen2 600, its shorter/lower than a edge seat or the original seat on your 98. depending on your height you may be cramped. when riding the tank it's no big deal, if you want to stretch out it could be. thats why I bought a Boss.

I put a 133.5" from a 99 rmk 500 and that track is awsome. the hook up is fantastic and the top speed is still good, 90mph with a 21/41 gear ratio.

I see what ya mean, I tried them both side by side and I liked the feel of the Gen 2 seat, time will tell I guess?
RacerDave if I recall did you not have some experience with the Holtzman Temp Flow or somethinglike that?
Thanks Kirt

It will interesting to see what the top end will be? Before the long track 99.8mph on gps was top speed.

RD yes I have a couple of questions. Was it worth the money?

And in what ways did you notce it,performance-mileage-response?
How do you set it up,jetting, etc.

Looks really good. You did good work! You are going to love that 136" ripsaw. You should probably not need studs. I have a 136" Polaris track on mine, and it hooks up great. The ripsaw should hook up better. Lots nicer over the bumps too. Here is a pic of mine.

Sorry for butting in here. I put a tempaflow on my 00 600 xc andit's great. I followed hte jetting instructions from Holtzman and then I ended up dropping one size. That ends up one size smaller than stock at -20 F. My piston wash was good there and I've since been riding long distances at -14 F with no problems. The best thing about it is that when it's 35 F the sled runs exactly the same as when it's cold. No rich running problems and very consistent gas mileage with wide temp swings. The instructions are excellent and you only have to drill one hole in the carb and grind a notch in the side of the slide. An afternoon's labor. It's worth it, and more so if you regularly play with your needle and jet settings to account for temperature changes. $0.02

Kirt, on my 02 XC7ves I'm three sizes down on the main from stock, could probably go one more. it just keeps the sled runner better as temp warms up. if it fails the jetting reverts to the full rich of your main. I really don't check my mileage much, I've seen 15 mpg on this sled with and without the tempa-flow. at $130 or so {fall show expected price} it willl take a while in gas savings to pay for the unit, but if you are a rejetter for warmer/colder temps you gain riding time

Why did you have to drill a hole in the card? Was this for the vacuam line? Also what did you have to notch the slid for? Wow drop that is interesting on the jetting.
Thanks Kirt

Hole is for vacuum, yes. Notching the slide is to gain control of jetting at lower rpms, it's not mandatory, but recommended by manufacturer. I talked to a tech at Holtzman before I did it. he said he does it all the time and if i sent the carb to them they'd do it for a nominal fee. You just use a dremel tool and a grinding bit.

I may be wrong, but I think the slide notching only applied to the Keihin carbs?
