Last couple rides I had some hesitation probs with my 500.. With the clutches engaged and traveling at lower speeds the engine would hestitate/stumble but never stall.. As soon as i get into the throttle a little heavier it would perform fine
at the higher RPMS. Anyone got any suggestions to try when it comes out of storage... Thanks

It could be a number of things the carbs, bad gas, warm temps, so on and so on. What were the conditions ? Was it happening all day just after getting gas? Give a liitle bit more detail and hopefully someone can give you some suggestions to look at.

Dont think gas was the issue went throught several tanks. It was not isolated to after fillups either. Conditions were fine between 10 & 30
degrees.. after the sled was run for a while & warmed up it did seem to get better, but still had the issue. 3/4 to full of the gas & it was fine... At times when coming to a stop it would stall out, but always started right back up & seem to idle fine

Maybe it's possible your carbs need to be cleaned? or your fuel filter?
I am not really sure...just some suggestions and ideas.
Maybe even your reed petals need to be replaced depending on the miles?
just trying to help....good luck anyways

no one said anything about carb iceing.... its posible or maybe a primary clutch problem , did you just change your belt and not have the correct free play?

Sounds a little like a primary problem, maybe bad rollers or something?

I would look at your carbs. Won't hurt to take them off before winter clean them up and make sure everything is operating correctly.

most people are on the right track here... also look at your plug wires and caps... i've seen low rpm performance affected there as well if the carb tweaks don't fix it

Have you cleaned the exhaust valves lately.I've found when they get dirty I have similar problems. It's worth a try.

it is pretty common on a case reed to have some
slight stumbling around 5500rpm.
carb synch is very important on case reed motors.
clean, adjust, and resynch the carbs first.
check and clean the exhaust valves.
make sure that belt alignment and tension are correct.
a loose belt will make a big difference.
it's best to run the belt on the tight side.
you could also change to a stiffer primary spring and
weights that are a 2 grams heavier.
if yo don't use a progressive helix, switch to one.
if you do, change to one that is taller on the bottom.
you could also try tightening the secondary one hole.
