I have a 97 polaris xlt ltd when riding this last winter the track seems to float and sway to side to side. The only adjustments that i have made are new front shocks and I think problem is the rear skocks are bad so i am going to replace them. The sled has a new track but when the track was installed they put the track backwards is this the problem? I need some help here?

does it have the extra 10 suspension?

the track backwards? that will def affect your accel/decel. i personally would turn it around.a lose or worn out skid frame or shocks etc will cause alot of movement under the back.

ok nevermind on the xtra 10. i looked it up and its the xtra 12. you might have too much pressure on the front of the track. pull up your front limiter straps a little. that should help. also the backwards track probably isnt helping. did this happen after the track install?

I didnt install the track it was already done. I will look at the front strap. When the sled is on a jack stand the suspension drops down farther than normal. I owned a exact same sled before and never had this problem so i am thinnking its the front strap or the track. I wish winter would hurry up.

I have the same sled as a back up. I had the same problem and it was the front shock too tight or you can tighten the limit strap. You do not want the rear suspension very tight. I know it looks good standing tall but that sled has to have a soft rear to drive right. I rode 3200 miles with the thing and finally have it set just right. You do not want it to fully extend with no one on it. Its tempting. make sure your track isn't too loose as well. Some times it will loosen up and cause the sled to float side to side.

try it all

Sounds like the front arm shock is sacked.

well I took the suspension out it seems that the suspension has some bad bushings, shocks, and found some bolts that where lose. Thanks for all the help. i_need_snow.gif polaris_rules.gif

Now that you have your suspension out, I would personally take that track and turn them to where they should be. Thats what I would do. - WL -
