I BOUGHT SOME USED HTG PIPES FOR MY 04 PRO X 800. I HAVE RECENTLY HEARD THAT THE 03 AND 04s ARE DIFFERENT. (TIMING AND CDI ETC). THEREFOR THE PIPES ARE DIFFERENT DESIGN. I DONT WANT TO BUG ROB AT HTG BECAUSE I CANT REMEMBER, BUT I BELIEVE I CALLED HIM BEFORE I BOUGHT THEM AND HE SAID THEY WERE THE SAME. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THIS IS SOMEONE TALKING OUT THER A$$. OR IS THIS TRUE.

Well on the 03's there was an update on the cdi box. The update I beleive is what the 04's come with. Either way the pipes for an 03 will work on a 04 pro x.

ace - you may have heard that from me:

HTG - told me the o3 & 04 700's(700's) are different cdi AND porting. I dont know much about 800's, but ...

The 03 800 (800) did need to be reprogramed(factory suggestion- update) and head work(dome change) to run with the twin pipes. TRUST ME - my buddy had one, and he is VERY good friends of Rob. I almost bought this sled from him. I could be to robs shop in 15 minutes.

PS - If you reprogram, mod head, and add twin pipes I can get you the clutch set up to WIN with.

The pipes will work from year to year it is just a matter of other changes you may need to make. The o3 700 pro x pipes for example will work on a 04, but you need to port the o4 to make them run according to HTG--same pipes, but extra bucks to port. You will see on HTG site they dont even list 04 twins for the 700, nor does slp or hot seat. Again this is 700 info

If you dont trust me call Rob, because YOU need to be 100% sure before the snow flies, and i dont blame you a bit for that.

You should be fine with your pipes Ace. The 800's are no different from 03 to 04. Other then the det in the 04's that you might run into problems with.

I agree with nickels. You will need to modify or change the head as well, but as I said before speak with Rob.
