My stock gearing is listed at 24/41 and I checked it and it was. I have been told to go to 23/40. What is this going to be the results? I know this should be simple but I have managed to confuse myself with the gearing chart. Will the sled be faster, slower, quicker, or faster.

Help me I am a little to slow

oh yeah it is a 02 pro x

24/41 is a 1.71 ratio a 23/40 is a 1.74. With the 23/40 you should be able to get from point A to point B say 1000 ft. apart quicker then with 24/41. I thought the 600's had 23/39 gearing. Thats what mine had in it ,and I thought the gearing was perfect. If it was me I would use 23/39 or 23/40.

nickels, I thought that was the gearing I had but I found an ammended page in my owners manual from polaris that said 24/41 so I pulled the case and it sure is 24/41. Will the 24/41 have more top speed?

24/41 Is suppose to have more topend. But that is not always the case. If your not getting full shift out. Then your not acheiving maximum speed. I personally would change the gearing to 23/39 or 23/40. You probably won't loose any topend. I had 23/39 in my 600 and would see 114 on the speedo.

I believe polaris did this to reduce track spin and still get top speed. i tried this myself and found it didn't work. the 23/39 or 23/40 is an awsome gear ratio and will get excellent top speed. my tip on a hard pulling sled is heavey weights and stock spring or even softer than stock. the xc/sp600 is way strong on the bottom end and needs to be loaded up hard. ooh4.gif
