National Straightline Snowmobile Racing speed run, Saturday, Jan. 31, Menomonie

NSSR is a professional race association affiliated with International Snowmobile Racing and serves as the only world record series for the 1,000-foot speed run.

The race will have two parallel tracks on the ice. One track is used for the professional competition, and the other is for trail riders who want to see how their sleds perform in a race.

Four-wheeler and vintage sleds also compete on the trail rider track.

About 200 snowmobiles are expected to compete, reaching speeds of up to 171 miles per hour. NSSR members come from Ohio, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin,

Feb 28th on Lake Poygon in Tustin. Put on by the Metz Ridge Runners.

St. Germain January 23 and 24. They have a new website http://www.radarracers.com. St. Germain runs two parallel tracks, one for the big guns on shaved ice and another for trail riders who just want to see how their sleds run against each other.

Top speed last year was 155.3 in open mod! About 150 people compete at this race.

Sundowners in Edgerton wi are having a radar run with 2 lanes. It is a plowed track. No ice. Trophys for 1st place in class. $20 for sled with $10 for each additional class with that same sled. Double elimanation. Will be on willow road between coachmens and albion. Just off I90/I39.

Yes. They are using a grader to smooth it out.

In regards to the Sundowners radar run iceing of the tracks is underway.

Jan.11,Bensons Hideway-Camplesport,800ft. Jan.17,Feb.21,Dirty Turtle,Mauston,1000ft. Jan.24,Hillers,St. Germain,1000ft.also some big time hard pack drag racing. Jan.31,Fondulac? Feb.7,Crooked lake,660ft. Feb.14,Minocqua,750ft.could be ice or snow,usually do not know till that weekend,also a lot of hard pack drag racing. Feb.28,Lake Poygan,1000ft. March 7 Cable,The Wennie Roast,1000ft.and also some big time hard pack drag racing,if you have never been to Cable for this,try to go,it is awsome.I have some phone numbers for some of these events,but not all of them.They are all on ice,except for Minocqua,that could go either way.

Not sure whos on lights. TO the owner of the field, who doesnt own a sled, has taken on the task of iceing on his own. If any club members wanted to find alot of 2" hose and hang out on a cold night Im sure it would/could be just like a lake run.

I knew he was going to try and get it iced. We talked to him about a month ago on setting up the track.

Should be a good deal if we can get decent snow. Right now it doesn't look good.

This is a double elimination Event and you can enter your sleds in more than one class if you qualify. Its $20.00 to register a sled for the first class and each additional class registration is only $10.00. Sled registration starts at 8:30-11:30am and racing begin at NOON! They have a professional track service that will be taking care of all the racing times. They are starting with the bigger sleds first so make sure your there on time so you don't miss the good action!!!

Parking I think is $5.00 and admission is $5.00. There will be places to park trailers if you plan on trailering sleds out there.

Anyone have any news about if Waverly Beach will ever get going again? I heard they want to get it going in some form but there is big problems between the guys who used to own the CWSR I think it was called?

I don't know anyone involved, just some info I was told last summer. I miss running at the beach.

500' on snow - Over 850 runs recorded last year alone!

Trophies awarded to all classes: Vintage, Current, ATV, UTV, and Off Road Bikes. Plowed run for wheeled vehicles, snow for the sleds.

$3.00 admission to the grounds with a $3.00/run or 4 for $10.00 entry fee.

Other events include a vintage oval enduro race and indoor sled show and swap. Refreshments provided by area snowmobile clubs.

What are the rules for this race? Can you run speedtracks in stock classes or does that bump you to improved?

Any word on the Lake Wisconsin radar runs. I know Hanley's put on the runs last year, don't know if they will this year or not seeing how they shut down now.

I believe we decided 100% cash payout for fastest speed!!!!!!!!! LET'S DO THIS!!!!! I won the 500 class with my FX so it shouldn't be to hard to win some money!!!!! GIVE ME COMPETITION!!!!

Delavan Lake, located on State Hwy 50. 10:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m. Ample parking across Hwy 50 in the Delavan Township Park. This is a fun run with no classes, trophies, money, etc. Donations will be greatly appreciated. Run once, run 100 times, just have some fun while we have the conditions.
