This week's Photo Contest subject is Pets. Let's see your best pic of your dog, cat, turtle or hamster. If you don't have a pet, take a picture of someone else's. Hints for pet pictures are similar to people portraits, with a few additional things to keep in mind:
Don't point the camera down at your pet, get down on their level instead. Kneel down or sit on the floor.
Use tele settings, (zoom in), and crop tightly. Watch out for distracting backgrounds.
Watch out for "red-eye". Really prevalent in pet pics because animal pupils are larger than humans. Avoid flash if you can, and edit red-eye if it unexpectedly shows up in an otherwise good photo.

As with each contest, entries should be new photos taken this coming week, and post them in the digital camera photo gallery reserved for this week's contest. Winner will be chosen next monday June 21th and will receive a HCS sticker. Thanks to all submitting photos for these contests. Have fun!
