When out for a drive yesterday the trail crossed the road I was on. I noticed that the trail Stop signs on both sides had been broken off. veryangry.gif This is on a busy rural road with limited visibilty for both cars and ATVs. What possess an A hole to break these off, do they not think of the possibility of what could happen. Just remember if you see these down anywhere try to stand them up again, or tell a club member you could save a live. Should you be a member of a club or just a good snowmobiler every little bit you do helps. The "Stop Ahead" sign is the most important sign to make sure is standing, it warns people there is something ahead and is not as likely to be stolen or broken off as a Stop Sign.

When I lived in Cheboygan, where the trails are actually on State Land and don't come down, they rarely make it through a summer without 90% of them getting vandalized. Its too bad. People don't think what could potentially happen when they are hooking the signs up to their truck and pulling them out or filling them full of bullet holes. There's nothing we can do about it either, short of mounting cameras in the trees.

We have the same problem around here. We used to put our signs up early, like the start of hunting season. Seems they make good targets for disgruntled hunters. We now wait a little later. We also battle with 4X4 trucks early in the season, driving on the trails (stateland) and running the signs over. We always have many signs missing throughout the year. Overall, I'd say we loose 10% per year. Gets pretty expensive, especially when you try to sign as much as possible as the club does.

I'd love to see a sign at someones house and call the cops, even if I knew um, there's no reason for that!

I'v notice the same where I ride as well,so when Im out on my ATV I carry a hammer and a hand full of old nails to put the signs back up if there's anything left of it !! It doesn't take long to do a little . :div20: I too belong to a club ,so I might as well do my part if I can . ylsuper.gif i_need_snow.gif

On a positive note, I was out ATV'ing Yeasterday and the new signs that have been put up over Jersey way are very nice (I have seen them before) But seeing them left up for ATV season is a nice touch. They are big billboard like displays, so maybe they will be respected more.

Yeah the A-holes who break em down should be uzi.gif

With those new proposed OHV regs, you hit a sign with your wheeler and they can take your wheeler. This reg must be for the A-holes running over the signs.

Still think the new regs are way to geared toward out of control ATV's, but we are all being painted by the same brush.

ALL YOU NOVA SCOTIA SLEDDERS DO YOUR PART AND REPLY ONLINE.

Tell em to leave sleds out of the regs, we are doing fine with the regs and hard working volunteers we have. It sucks to be painted with the same brush.

My kids will take solice in knowing under the new regs, the new dirt bikes I bought for them (designed for 4-6 year olds), they will be able to ride when they turn twelve !!!!

Whoever wrote these, were way off in certain area's.
