I've got a Sony DSC-V1.

It is 5.0 MP.
I think is a 3x optical zoom.
Carl Zieus lense.
Fairly hearty rechargeable battery.

I bought a telephoto lense attachment and I like it.

All in all it takes good pictures. I wanted that new sony 8 MP but it is huge and wouldn't fit for sledding.

If you click on the "My Webshots" link in my sig you can check out some of my pictures. I am trying to upload most of my sledding pics there.

What kind of camera's do you have?

I've got a Nikon cp990 and a Canon A20. The A20 is just 2MP and that's what most of my trip pictures are with.

Also thinking about upgrading..I'd be looking at the Canon Powershot Pro1 or digital Rebel..But I wouldn't want to bring either of those snowmobiling wink.gif

I have a Sony DSC-P7. Nice and small and really easy to use. The macro kinda bites but I want to get another for the close ups and the really good pics

I have a Canon Elph S230,I really like it for snowmobiling, its compact has a huge 128 card and the battery life is great!Plus it takes a few minutes of video with sound.

I have a Nikon CoolPix 5000. It is a great camera, almost too many features for me to understand. I bought it mainly for work, but it gets used a lot.

Here is a sample. This was taken with low resolution.

I have a sony DSC-S75 it has way too many features for me to understand. I guess if I took the time to read the manual it might be easy. I'm thinking of picking up a cheaper camera for snowmobiling. Something smaller and cheaper.

Canon G2. 4 megapixels. Comes with remote. A little big, but takes awesome quality pixs... ylsuper.gif

What does everyone think of the Olympus C-740?

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ10. Great camera. 12x stablilized optical zoom f2.8 throughout the range and shoots down to ISO 50 for low noise. Has manual focus which is nice also. Still learning how to use it but pretty good camera.

Here is a great site for camera info.

I have a Canon A60, 2MP but takes really nice quality pictures when compared to other camera's that are 2MP. Good camera for sledding pictures which is why I primarily bought it, and with a 256 mem. card I can get some vids.
snowcrazed440
Cannon EOS Digital Rebel.

I have a couple of Fuji FinePix, one is a 4900 and is more like a SLR with a zoom and a Telephoto and you can also use filters. The other one is a 401, it is more of a point and shoot that fits in my pocket and goes on most of my trips on the sled.

I have a Canon Powershot S50. It's 5 mega pixels. Nice and small for taking anywhere. I just picked up a camera for work, Canon Digital Rebel, 6.3 mega pixels with a 100mm macro lens for up close shots. It seems to work really well.

I have an Olympus D-550

It is a 3 megapixle camera that takes great pictures but the software that came with it is not that great.

Downsizing photos for this forum is labor intensive.

Anyone want to share their thoughts on Olympus Cameras?

Girlfriend gave me a Kodak CX 6330 this past year for Christmas. Its a 3.1 MP, 3X optical zoom, 10X total zoom. Takes video with sound also. I bought a 256 MB memory card, so I can log a few days on the trails and still have lots of room for more...

All of my pics thus far have been taken with the 2.2 MP setting. Seems thats more than adequate for sledding pics that I have posted here...

I started out with a Fuji DS7, great camera when we got it when it was new.... now days $700 for a 640x480 camera sounds rediculous..... well at the time it was about the best you could get (if i recall in 97 or 98).

Then we moved up to the Fuji 6900 Z, and it is still a nice camera, but as with everything a $800 camera 2.5 years ago just isn't up to par with what you can get now....

Just got a digital rebel 2 months ago, wish we could have waited for the Nikon D70, but it looks like we will probably keep this one for the long haul.... but when my wife gets ahold of the Fuji S3 this fall the Digital rebel might fall into disuse.

I use a Sony DSC-P9 with a 256Mb card. Can store a ton of pics on the camera, even on high resolution. I've had it for just over a year now and am still getting used to some of the settings.

I also bought a HP photo printer to go with it. I can take my card from the camera and just insert it to the printer.

I've got a Sony DSC-P10 5.0 meg.pix. Love the camera, never thought I'd take so many pics!!(It's soooo easy!) I'd love to learn more on how to use it and take full advantage of it's capabilites!

My current camera is an Olympus C-740 3.2 MP. I got it for snowmobiling because it has a 10x optical zoom on it. It is small enough to put in a camera bag and carry in the tank bag.

We are looking at a Nikon D-70 Digital SLR as we are looking to do wildlife photos to sell. That would not go snowmobiling.

I have a Nikon 775 2 mp for snowmobiling, the snowmobiling pics in the link in my sig were taken with it. I'm looking for a compact 5 mp camera to use when snowmobiling, but that will be after I get the Nikon D70.

Olimpus C-750 Ultra Zoom. 10X optical 4X digital Zoom. 4 megapixel X-D memory, built in flash or speed light. Love it!

Nikon coolpix 990, and for the shirt pocket while snowmobiling we have a Nikon 2100.
The 990 is excellent for taking macros, can get with in 3/4 on an inch of object.
I use it for my other hobby.
While the 2100 is a "turn on and shoot" kind of camera.

I have two Sony cameras, a DSC-P9 - small and great for use on the trails 4 MP, and a DSC-F717 - it's a large 5 MP camera with options and capabilities much like a 35MM SLR. It will take pics in the dark by infra-red photography.

Just bought the Sony DSCF828. Perhaps too much of a camera for me but I will grow into. Many years a 35mm SLR guy but tired of carrying around the lenses. Will buy Sony W1 for biling season.

What he said, it is a great camera that has movie mode and fits into a pocket very nicely. Mine has the 256 mb memory stick and I can get a ton of pics on the 5mp setting.

Canon Powershot S30. Takes good pics and has more options than I have used.

I have a Canon Powershot S50 that I use most of the time and a Canon EOS1DS that I don't even know how to use (my dad gave it to me)

I've had good luck with my Nikon cool pic 3100.

I've got a FujiFilm FinePix A210.

3.2Million Pixles
3 Optical Zoom

Kind of big for sledding but it gets the job done.

Here is a sample of its work. - This pic was cut 75% from its original size.

I just bought a Olyumpus 740, 3.2m, 10x optical zoom........really wanted the 10x zoom for hunting and sledding. Seems like a very simple camera to use. :div20: :div20: :div20: :div20:
