did you jet it, clutch it and gear it down? thats where i would start. i think a lot of the little parts arent worth the money. maybe pipes though.

it has been proven time and again that without serious mods a pipe will do nothing for this sled... get it jetted, clutch it up real nice, and ride it... if you are serious about hp with the 600ves i can only suggest one thing Carls' Cycle 660 kit... it will go you about 1500 bones but will get you passing MANY well dialed in 800's... it is definitely a pissed off combo...

I ran an '01 ves 600 in my prox last year. I ran about every piece of aftermarket crap that I could (pipes, boost bottles, reeds, bored carbs, airbox / pods, heads). The best engine set-ups I found were the following:

stock pipe
400 mains
1.5 airjets
stock needle
3rd clip setting
stock fuel screw setting
500 - 1000ft
aprx. 112-113hp

I did manage to use an Aaen single (modified) and burped 119 several times, but it ran more like 115hp.

Other than that, the only thing would be Struther's 660 kit, or bore / stroke / polish it.
