Getting ready to get my sled ( 09 yamaha rtx SE) and the bank says i need full coverage ok so i call foremost today 800 bucks for full coverage. This is at the bare min coverage that i need. anybody else paying that much? dont understand why its so much for a sled that we ride for 4 months a year. liability is all i ever had cause you need that to ride in VT. paid 150 for liability on my rev and the nytro is 179 so not to bad but 620 for the rest is crazy . any suggestions to save some money?

Yeah...well insurance rates in Ct. are not any better. Requiring full coverage on a sled while not being a home owner or using the same company that insures your vehicles....they will really nail you on that one sled. I remember my kid telling me it was $750 for insurance to pay for his own new sled several years ago...

thats about what i pay for 4 sleds and a trailer! took me awhile to find the right insurance company but they are out there.... if you own a place out of state call whoever your out of state homeowners is through, its the cheapest route. If you insure just through a mass company its robbery

can you get insurance through your homeowners policy or is that just cover for liability

If you need to take out a loan maybe you should buy less less sled that you can pay cash for? I only carry insurance on my 2006 for the 3-4 months that I need it and at $450.00 or so for the full annual policy I end up paying less than $200.00 for the prorated portion that I use........Amica who I have auto, trailer and homeowners with! Good Luck
