Looking for some help here. will the old firecat track bolt onto the new f series chasis without and mods done to the suspension since the new style comes with a 14 or 15 inche wide track ????

no. you need to move your outer wheels out due to the 13.5 tracks having wider guide lugs outside of the rails (the ones on the 14 and 15 are "half width") and then move the upper wheels inside the tunnel in so they stay on the track.

Actually, if the track is oem from a arctic cat, it will have the "half width" outside lugs. Camoplast replacement tracks have the full width lugs. If you have an 07, D&D sells the offset bearings to move your upper idlers in, so the track won't fall down, inside (a good idea for 14" tracks, too). 08 and newer have upper idlers moved in from the factory.

thanks glen for the details,
my dealer charged me to move the bearings in last spring.......2008 F8 sno pro
also, adding blocks to the upper arm so the track will not fall inbetween the rails is an easy addition, now that I've seen it.
The 13.5 in track is a big improvment for the f-chassis, speed wise......
probably close to 10mph, on hard pack and ice conditions.
not sure about handling yet, though, I was told it was also an improvment.

What is your impression for either adding 8" wheel kit and / or removing the out side wheels?
more so for speed, not trail riding

Can't hurt, but I doubt either will make a measurable difference. Biggest improvement you could make would be to lower the sled.
