I have towed in Ma, NH, and ME with the fast lane and never had a problem with the sled trailer. I was told that you need to go through a toll with a person present, but I don't think this is true. When I get my bill the toll is correct for a vehicle with a trailer. The only time I got bagged was on the Mass pike. I had my boat and they picked up that it wasn't on the fast lane. I then added the boat and didn't have to pay the fine. They sent me a picture in the mail of my boat and license plate. Fast lane is worth it. Good luck

I run the Fast Lane with New York's EZPASS. Lot's more flexibility if you travel into NY, NJ, PA and even further south.
NY just sent me another transponder to use when towing. You have to switch back and forth. Easy!

So i would have to buy two trasnponders? One for towing and one without the trailer, that sucks

You only need one for either of them, they have sensors that count the axles and charge you accordingly.
The ezpass recommends getting a second transponder only if you do a lot of towing.
I install my fastlane in my friends truck when we head into Maine, all I have to do is make sure his vehicle info is on my account and that is easily done online.

I have a Mass FastLane, and tow with the car that it is on. You need to register the trailer with FastLane, which you can do by calling, or do online. If you do that, you can use any lane, and will be charged correctly. I have towed the trailer in Mass, NH, and Maine, no problem.
I also have NY EZPass on my other car. They can both be used in ME, NH, MA, NY, PA, NJ, DE, and probably other states as well. Unlike sled registrations, you can use any transponder in any state. I used mine to pay to part at LaGuardia airport last week, they have a lane for it at the parking exit at the airport.
For what it's worth, you can get one from any state, and register several cars and trailers to it, and use them all. I think they take a photo as you go through, and use software to read the plate, and match them up (not sure). They do say on the website not to put it in a car that it is not registerd to. I never tried it, not sure how it would work. I can see that having them check to match up the car to the transponder would be good for me if the transponder ever was stolen.
Also, I had to pay $30 (I think it was that much) to get the transponder in MA. The NY transponder was free, I only had to resigeter, they sent it. I did have to click the box for 'do most of my driving in NY' to get it. I live in MA. Could not see paying the price for the second one in MA, so I got the NY one. They both work the same for all practical purposes.
Can't see being without it once you have one. It's great being able to pass HUNDREDS of cars at the Hampton tolls when heading north...

Well the morons at dmv said my plate is a combination plate and i need a commercial account. Well screw them i'm just going to get the Maine's easy pass. But Mass does want to know the trailer plate #. Even if i give it to them they will not be able to read it because it's up and under like most snowmobile trailers. Have you guys had any problem if you don't give them the trailer plate #?

I never thought about the combination plate deal that CT uses as I just added my friend's plate as a regular plate for my fast lane, Mass is retarded anyway because as long as they get paid what difference does it make?
Good idea going for the Maine or wherever else, less hassle that way.
As for Mass wanting the trailer plate number, if you go with the Maine pass you only have to follow the rules that account sets.

I have my snomo trailer registered with FastLane, the plate is way under, near the wheels, and have had no problem. I think the cameras are down low, and can see the plate just fine.
Either way, it works, I have gone through toll lanes in Ma, Maine, and NH, no issues.

The Maine turnpike??? Oh, you mean 'the loose you ass expressway' !!!!!! I allways voice my displeasure when taking it up the ass at those tolls. Some old sea hag got pretty pissed at me the last time. I had to throw her a mackrel and haul ass before she got out of the cage and latched onto me.

I don't have my trailer registered on my fast lane when I lived in MA or now and I live in CT. I have driven through once or twice a year with my sled trailer and never received a extra charge....

What kind of Truck ? Because of the Combo plate problem, you can request " Pasanger " plates for most pick up trucks, Under 8500 lbs.
