Different cylinders, pistons, crankshaft.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they made an xcr440 in 2000. 1999 they made the xcr440 based off the 1998 racer in the gen2 chassis and also the first year xcr440sp in the edge chassis. Either way, if it is a 199?, 1250 is correct

XCR's were race-style sleds. Like those guys said, different motor... i would also say since its a race sled it probably has a different shock setup, possibly a somewhat different chassis as well.

well my friends xcr is based on the edge chassis, and the xc im looking at has the same style shocks. So are the xc motors alot slower than the xcr or what?

how much power difference is there?
Klay_f7
my friends xcr is the 99 style,

Those are both race sleds, 99 and 2000. Some of the differences that I remember:
99 had totally different rear suspension with coil over shocks
Porting was more aggressive on the 99. Which meant more peak power, but also meant you had to be clutched better.
Both had about the same power within a couple HP though
2000 had solenoid controlled EV's
2000 had the polaris roller secondary (i think)
2000 had shorter trailing arms and redesigned front end.
Possibly different chaincase, the 99 had a magnesium cover.
The 99 was more of a "1 year wonder" and I believe the 2000 to be an overall better sled.
2000 was moving from the Edge chassis toward a PRO-X chassis design

Yup, the 2000 had the roller secondary on the XC.

thanks, klay
