Hi our family is travelling through Vermont mid September, is there any places we should try to see? We wondered if there was any museums that would have vintage sleds in them? We love scenery (okay I love scenery and I will be in charge of the map...so husband will have go where I tell him

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
You are coming to Vermont around peak foliage season so expect lots of "leaf peepers"...but also expect some georgous color too! You shouldn't miss the mountain road in Stowe which as someone said will take you to Smugglers Notch, a wonderful natural thing to see. They have a gondola that you can take up to the summit as well as the Alpine slide. Also, as someone said Killington/Pico has a slide too, but what might be of interest is that for a reasonable fee they offer a day long outdoor adventure package suitable for the whole family. The Cabot Creamery is an interesting tour for the kids as well as the Ben & Jerry's factory tour in Waterbury. In Jeffersonville, VT (on the other side of Smugglers Notch) you can take a family canoe trip to a local winery which is fun for both the kids and then Mom & Dad; they bus you back to your car, also very reasonably priced. As someone said the Tunbridge Fair is a wonderful true blue Vermont Fair that has many barns full of local livestock for the kids to see, also has a museum, maple exibits, etc., go during the day and you can see tractor & oxen pulls etc. There are balloon rides in Quechee but are very expensive...however, the gorge has a walking path suitable for the whole family and is very interesting, near there in Woodstock is the Raptor Center and President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site...both very interesting and worth a visit. If your family likes the water then the Echo Center Aquarium in Burlington is perfect for the kids and you can take a cruise on Lake Champlain...then take a ride up through the "Islands" along the northern part of the lake. Oh and in Norwich, VT (eastern side of VT) there is the Monshire Museum which is a very large hands-on museum for kids. Will keep them entertained and they can touch everything! Well I could ramble on and on but I think I have given you some things to consider...have fun and enjoy!
