I have a polaris 325 expedition I bought new in 2000 it has been great up until now. I let my brother inlaws ride it today now I have no neutral light even though its in neutral so it will not start. I am assuming there is some sort of switch I can check. Any help would be appriciated.

Souds like dead battery to me. Can you pull start it? Be advised; if the battery is dead and you run it by pull starting it you may brun out and lights that you have on. The battery is part of the load needed on the voltage reg and if is dead the system put out too much powr and will smoke the lights. Just turn everything you can off or if it is a dead batery, make sure you fix that before you run it.

ditto on the battery or maybe the starter button. i had a 2000 scrambler and that would start in gear. assuming urs is set up the same way.

Yes there is a switch.you will find it on the right hand(as you are sitting on machine)side of the engine case.If this goes bad it will not start.later machines had a over ride in the brake switch.this is a safty switch deemed nessesary because your machine is a 5 speed instead of a auto.part # is 3086920.

Is this switch tied it with the reverse switch. The battery is good all lights work and the reverse indicator comes on when I shift into reverse. Tried the pull rope and the damn thing did not recoil.

That run/stop switch on the left side is like a master electrical switch, I dont' think it's tied into the reverse switch. The master circuit is also connected to the dead man switch in the throttle block. If the throttle cable is too loose, it won't start.
Play with that rope a little and it may recoil otherwise you may have a broken spring or one that has come loose.

Thanks for the advice pull rope is back in and it strarts now. It might be a bad connection in the master switch.
