my friend has a 2008 nytro and he is looking for a silencer for it.. should he just find a used crotch rocket silencer and weld it on? what are some good sounding silencers for it?

I have the single husher from Hauk Powersports. They are in Rice Lake Wisconsin. It has a slight higher pitch with a growl when you nail it, and a nice flowing rumble at an average speed. Good luck

[to maximize performance ur gonna need a fuel accelerator to add more fuel to take advantage of the exhaust flow. New exhaust needs more fuel flow to make it work the best. been der dun dat!

we used a fmf titanium quad silencer on my brothers nytro and it sounds really nice and looks nice to. its easy to make your own exhaust. like turk said you will need a tfi box from somewhere. we ran our nytro without it a few times and its deffinately lean without it. try the box from dobeck performance, its cheap (around $250), easy to use , and easy to install. hauck sells the same box but its cheaper direct from dobeck.

I have the Ultra Q and I love the sound, not to loud but just loud enough.I cut the turn out off so that it appears to look stock. Yamaha offers a slip performance muffler for the Nytro and Skinz Ultra Q is the same thing excpet the Yammy one says GYTR on it .I had no idea I needed a fuel accelerator but I guess i will add that to my list to do before the snow flies.

I used the Ultra Q with the turnoff cut out as well and I really liked it.
You don't need the fuel acc. with it.
I'm thinking they were talking about the super-aggressive crotch-rocket types that would need that.

i simply took out the stock muffler & went to an automotive parts store & added a high performance /lightweight muffler & it actually gained hp & only cost me around $50.00 total. I have dyno sheets to prove the gains in hp .Like turk mentioned above to get maximum hp gains you will need different fuel maping.

is there any drone at lower speeds or trail speeds? I rode an Apex gt with an Excell and it drove me nuts on the trail..loved it a WOT on the lake but hated it on the trail at 6-8000 rpm.

I was looking at the pipe from Aaen, It boasts a 6 hp, 3 lb-ft increace and saves 7 lb complete bolt on.

Did it give you a diffrenrt sound? I'm Looking for more bark, I had The husher and the customer service sucked, talked to Pat him self and had nothing but troubles with his husher like you guys said you need a diffrent maping for it stuttered and didnt gain anything, i did a test in runniing my sled with the husher and with the stock muffler and the stock muffler was 2 mph faster everytime. sled never had a stuter now with my stock exhaust it has the stutter. But after hours and hours of arguing with Pat i got my money back in other parts.

If you guys are looking for a silencer like the husher look on ebay under fireball exhaust and you'll see pretty much probalbly the exact same exhaust for $30 dollars shipped to your house! all you would need is a mid pipe and clamps, and mounting hardware! but back to the husher i've heard of guys who bought the husher, the power commander and the clutch kit, and k&n air intake they sell, throwing away over a grand to hauck and still barley beating there friends stock nytro, oh yah and they still have the stutter with the hauck power commander!. just giving you guys a warning and looking out for you. good luck to you guys! Just wondering if anyone has tried the boondocker? they say there pretty good but have yet to here how they perform on the nytros.

You may be confusing two different fuel reprogrammers. Unless I'm mistaken Hauck uses a Doebeck Fuel Accelerator, not the Power Commander to do his fuel adjustments.

yep he uses the dobeck box. i use them on my apex and my bro uses one on his nytro and they work great, apparently kingedwards's box is not set right because there is no reason why there should be a studder anywhere with this box. kingedwards, when you get to ride it again follow the instructions and just play with the settings up and down.
