Usually I just wave a 5 or 10 dollar bill in their face and they will go for that pretty good, then after you're done reeling them in and playing with them you can just throw them back.

I've been doing some striper fishing too, and they seem to be a few weeks behind this year. There have been a couple around here and there but they aren't schooling yet like they should be. Hopefully they will be soon though. Once I latch on to one I'll be able to suggest some bait but I've tried alot of different rigs and haven't had any luck yet this year either.

Live macs, sluggo's white and mac colored. Tight lines to ya.

Check out the Maine/NH forum on Stripersonline.com. Although most of the guys seem to be having a hard time this year. Lots of bait in the lower states seem to be holding the fish. I usually do well soaking fresh clams off the beaches and inlets of Southern Maine on a fish finder rig. If casting from shore, soft plastics rigged with tandem hooks. Bombers in school bus or blurple, Black A-Salts. Danny plugs that swim on the surface. Can't go wrong casting eels at night either. Best bet for bass is structure. Either tidal inlets or rocky points. Find structure, current and deep water and there is bound to be Stripers around.

I've fished for stripers five or six times this summer, and I finally caught a few earlier this week. (28", 27", 23") Anything blue and white drew strikes. Other colors didn't work for me, although black and chartreuse have usually worked well in the past. Like everyone else has said, things are a bit weird this year.

I got skunked last weekend in the Parsons Beach area. I limited myself to a fly rod though. My Father In Law had one fish at 20 inches. There are a few guys on the Piscat doing well on live Pogies.

They are called "Striped Bass". Tynan19 is holding one up in his avtar picture.

According to the Sunday Telegram, the stripers are now in.

We went out near ocean park two fridays ago and a buddy of mine caught 15 one 19 and one 23, this was after dark on the incoming tide right from the beach. On chunk mackrel on bottom.

A buddy of mine just said his arms are sore from catching fish the last few days in Southern Maine. Mackerel painted plugs and spoons were the ticket.

NB-Nytro here is a bigger pic.
