I was emailed that info from the NYSSA. Overall (the way I read it),it was probably the best we could have hoped for. But I noticed that the 1 million wasn't returned to the fund(the way I read it). But they will increase the funding dramatical for next years season.
Now comes the part that is typical New York. Yes the funding is going way up. But the state has allowed itself to be sued by the envirormentalist because of giving a discount on snowmobile registrations if the person is a member of a Club. 100.00/yr=nonmember.or 45.00/yr if a member of a club. I never though this would stand up in a court of law and I believe the enviromentalist will win that lawsuit. My best guess is the NYS Snowmobile registrations will be 100.00/ sled next year period!
Now you would think the State would just drop the registration back to 45.00/year like it was before all this mess, but that's not the way it's done in NewYork. Guess how they just paid for the big increase in funding. That' right ,you'll pay for it.
Now, after living in NY my whole life, I believe this what NY had in mind in the first place when the clubs came to them and asked the state to increase Registraion fees. Tell the Envirormentalist to wait a couple years, then sue us. Then we can raise the fee to 100.00/yr and say we had no choice. NYS is and has been run by the Democratic party for over 50 years. The Dems and enviromentalist have a long working relationship in NY. Please draw your own conclusions.

Now,please understand. I DON"T have all the facts here. I'm hoping members who are more informed than I will "Straighten me out". But, I've lived in NY for 52 Years................

if ny had one tenth the trail system and conditions that canada does your point would be valid. as for the rest, that's the typical bullshit i've been hearing for years and it's never made a measurable difference. when it all comes down to it we didn't win anything. all we do is postpone the inevitable. we will be paying out of our asses for a subpar trail system and the told to be thankful for what we have! most of us are part of a club and contribute our time and money only to watch our asses get stretch open more every year. i can't believe how cheap it is for motorcycles, atv's, boats, etc. compared to sleds and we only get to ride them for 2 months a year. (not even lately) there's alot of money wrapped up in sled registration in ny and that's why they tapped into it. if our registration goes up again, they will just take more whether we like it or not. i'm already set to register only one sled out of 6 this season and i'm waiting until there's enough snow to ride.

i agree. i'm not chuckin the sport completely but definitely new york. i'd rather pay $200 in canada and get something for my dollar. the time and money i spend on trails just doesn't add up when ny pulls this bullshit. you want my registration, my time, and more of my money? shit, if i could get out of club dues, volunteering and just pay another hundred bucks for perfect trails pretty much all the time? keep your shit trails ny, they're not worth it.

Can you link this alleged lawsuit? If you're talking about the interview with Sheehan from the ADK, he's an ass and doesn't know what he's talking about-and has not filed a lawsuit. We, the Snowmobilers of New York State, flexed our mucles and got politicians attention, in turn, got media attention. His goal is to eliminate snowmobiling (and everything else that is not 'blessed' by the ADK) from Adirondack Park, and yet, he's on TV in Syracuse telling half-truths. He also said registration monies are being funneled directly into politicians coffers through the PAC. Also not true, but truth doesn't slow him down.

There is not nor will there be a move to raise registration rates. The money coming in will be money that normally the DEC uses, which instead will go to the clubs-so it's going where we need it to go. Additionally, DOB is overseeing Parks and DEC to ensure the fund is administered correctly and they, with the Governor's concurrence have said that it will be 5.34 million dollars to the trail fund for the clubs this year-so a lot more money available where the rubber meets the road (or the track meets the snow).

So gary who will build the bridges and build the trails that the DEC currently does. They do alot of work in our area. All you have to do is ask.

Like I said they are taking more of our money only to appear to give the original millionm dollars.

I hope they filed the barb off first.
