looking for a place in Newry/Bethel Maine area that my 7 year old son can legally ride his ATV. He will obviously be superivsed closely. We have a couple spots but I am looking for something like a big open field or safe set of private trails. The 2 places we normally ride are small and I would like to find a bigger area. We do not have much land at our house. He rides responsibly and the wheeler is small with tires that don't rip up the ground--thanks

There are plenty of places just have to explore a bit. One easy place to access is out past twin bridges on the sunday river rd. Bunch of logging roads out there to ride on.

we go to the Twin bridges but he is only seven so I worry about some Yahoo coming around a corner and hitting him. Do you mean the riding area at the bridges or keep going on the dirt road past it?

Its gotten to the point where your lucky to get to a atv trail that some asshole hasnt shreaded with their atvs or trucks, then u get the fucktard loggers in there... My father inlaw is a logger, who keep his twitchin trails clean... Neways the asshole loggers ride up the trails and destroy them and leave mounds of tree limbs and other various masive debris strewn every where. And then theres the outta state land owners that are complete assholes about their land. (Some BUT FEW are nice) And post it and put barb wire fences up... And also last winter i went snowmobiling through bethel (worked at sunday river) and the loggers fucked the trails up so bad that well about 6 of us rolled our sleds over because of their destruction and just weaving up the trails.
Personally my self im sick of this worthless state. No jobs and well the goverment is fuckin every one of us. The place is nice and all just to many people have hairs across their asses.
I know im ranting. Im sorry bad day. But its my input...

Im sorry if u felt i remotely implied that upon you, I in no way intended for you to take it that way. I was just trying to state... That between iresponcible people riding the trails and destroying them and getting them closed and some select few asshole loggers destroying land. Riding area is very and i mean very limited. I tried riding that area one weekend and got stopped by 2 staties and the same game warden twice telling me that im not on a ATV club trail, and that i need to stay off the roads... Trails are sometimes far appart... And now that school is out more punks are going to be crankin around also.
And once again im sorry if u felt as tho i was implying you were a destructive person.

Andover, roxbury has a great trail system.Toy run is this weekend so could be a lot of traffic. Be careful, not totally positive on the law but I think kids have to be 10 to ride alone. Just check it out before the guns and badges stop you. If you want to travbel a bit our trails in Canton are decent. Some roads and fields for him to learn on.

No worries Duckman...I was just being a wiseguy. I agree with you. When I bought a place in maine I thought it was like the last frontier. I have come to find out that big companies and government keep limiting what the little guy can do. Everytime I ride I feel like I have to look over my shoulder to see if anyone is pissed off at me.
