Any of you guys have a Cat upper idler wheel puller? They appear to be 280 bux. A little steep for me.
Willing to rent one for a case of suds!

Ian, you can get in behind the idler with a pair of internal snap ring pliers and pull the snap ring out, pull the wheel off the bearing, and use a regular puller if you need. I could be wrong but I doubt anyone has one other than a Cat shop.

The snap ring on mine is facing out (tunnel side). If I take it off, there's no room between the spring and the bearing to get a puller in there because of the wheel.

I took the snap ring out tonight, I think I might have enough room to get a slide hammer or jaw puller on the bearing. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
