I've got an M-10 in my 98 XLT and I needed to do A LOT more than drill a few holes. You'll need an installation kit from FAST that fits your sled. I believe that run a little over $100.

The kit contains many brackets and plates, mounting bolts and a ton of heavy duty rivets.

Is yours the older metric or the newer non metric. I have a metric m-10 in my 94 xlt, it wasn't to hard to install, just had to be carefull where to drill the holes. I agree he will need the install kit if he dosn't have it. best bet would be to call fast. His skid came out of an edge so I'm sure its different then mine.
