Not load at all. Got one on a 03 zr 900 good melow tone. Sounds good when on the throttle and gives the sled just the right amount of back pressure.

I have one on my '02 800. It sounds great and is alot quieter than the rumble pak that came on it, but louder than stock! I haven't had any problem with the wardens in ME either. I picked mine up on eBay for $100 shipped new last winter.
