I am just thinking out loud and was wondering.....
I am wondering the legality of making a "knock off" Can-Am out of a different four stroke snowmobile so I can ride year around without dropping $15 grand into another "toy". I know it would need blinkers and front brakes which could be taken from a small car and a rear swing arm type suspension. Ya think the state of Maine would register something like this as a motorcycle? I dunno, maybe the redneck in me is comming out. summer_sucks.gif

Think my dad said he saw one where somebody took an older snowmobile and turned it into a fourwheeler.

I don't know about a motorcycle though. I don't see why not as long as it had all the signals and lights.

Not sure if this guy ever tried to register it but I think he lives in Newburgh. I rode with him over the winter. He changes it back and forth.

My brother told me that he saw a sled, converted like that, at the Irving station in Wiscasset just last week. The guy obviously had it registered. Go for it. Redneck or not, thats awesome!!
