Not having much luck on iq/fusion board but i have a few questions about my 2006 600 ho fusion. I grass drag and im looking for a little more power. First will the selectable ignition from the 440 iq racer plug into my stock harness? Has anyone tried this? also ive heard about the different base gaskets offered for the 440, that will work on my engine, are these gaskets thicker or thinner than my stock gaskets ? has anyone tried a thicker gasket with a cut head on 1 of these engines? any help is appreciated, thanks

Mike Gulla @ Island racing has a very effective head mod for this motor. Simply "cutting" or "decking" or "shaving" your head can actually cause a loss in hp/torque. The combustion chambers need to be reshaped along with the squish/angles. I ran it along with a Neils Power Pipes single and VF3's. Motor screamed for a small block 600. Give him a call 802 372 8565. The head mod is cheap. Pipe not so much, but totally worth it once you get it jetted/clutched. No bullshit, my stock bore 600 would give 660's fits, ask Fabionachopper, he bought it and loved it.

I know that carb calibration is critical. I was down 5 main jet sizes from stock and it was good to zero so you can go more on the grass. Also, install a larger cutaway in the carb, takes care of all the low end loading up crap. Should see better holeshot with it.

Good luck!
