I have a choice to keep my 2005 Arctic Cat M7 141" or I can sell it and get a 2007 Arctic Cat Crossfire Sno Pro 800 that has been extended to a 144". The M has about 2700 miles and the crossfire has 300 miles on it. I go out to the mountains once a year and I ride around i the flats most of the year. But I loved how the M handles in the mountains. Thats one of the reasons I want to keep it. But would that 800 Crossfire handle about the same with that 144" track on it? What do you guys think?

Get the Xfire!!!
I love my M, but going up 2 years, 100cc's, and hell even 3" on the track (which isn't much)....
For the Mtns, just pull the sway bar out of the Xfire and it will be pretty descent!!! As long as the Xfire is a 2" lug!

Might be a little harder to pull over with the wider a-arms ans sway-bar. Also the CF800 will be heavier. Also like said above if the track is a 2" should be the same or a little better in powder.

I also thought about that....but since he only makes 1 trip west, and the majority of the riding isn't Mtn riding. I think he would welcome the wider A Arms for the 80% if the riding outside the Mtns.........

I like the narrow ski stance for sure. How would you change the ski stance to make it like the M's? Also how would you take out the sway bar? And also it does have a 2" paddle.

Sway bars a easy to take out. All you need to do is buy a-arm from a M to change the stance. Another thing that will be different is the CF have the narrower skis but that is a easy fix. they can be found used pretty cheap.

Where is the sway bar located so I can have a idea? How would you take out the sway bar and once you do take it out is there anything else you need to do?
When you put the M a-arms on the crossfire to make the stance more narrower. Would they just go right on? Or do you have to get the M spindle and and other parts?

You can use the same spindles.....the only thing needed to be changed is the upper and lower a arms, and also the tie rods for the steering since they are shorter with the M arms too.

If you put M series A-arms on would'nt you have to change the shocks to M shocks cause
I think M shocks are 1 inch shorter

The crossfire im looking at has fox floats. Do I just go buy a pair of shocks off of an M and will it fit right on? Or should I just go buy a pair of longer fox floats?

Yup the M series shocks will fit right on with the M series A arms.....if you are going to buy new Floats, they need to be shorter (17.55" Center to Center distance) I believe the F cats/Xfires are 18.75" CC....

I may be wrong because I have a 06 crossfire, but the ski stance is adjustable on mine and should be on the 07
not sure if it will move in as far as the M but it will move 1inch in both sides..

go with 800 , you can mod it close to a M if you still need M qualitys,

To go along with the ski issue I pitched mine and added Powder Pros, not for the width but the overall
turning proformance, and it does indeed help while boondocken (width)
The adjustment is in the Ski saddle with the spacers that you move from one side of the spindle to the other..
How narrow is the M I think with the skis in (Xfire) its around 41-42 inches
