My friend has decided it is time for an upgrade, but first needs to sell his old sled. It is a 1991 Arctic Cat Ext Special 550 and it is equipped with the Fox shocks. He got it last summer as a fixer upper and stuck a lot of his money and my time into it so he had something to ride last winter. We rebuilt the top end of the engine towards the end of winter. Had a crank seal go out and leaned the mag side piston. Engine was completely torn down, cleaned and we replace the both pistons with SPI Teflon and a new complete gasket set with seals. The track was replaced with a good used one and all idler bearings and hy fax replaced. Replaced both the drive shaft and jack shaft bearings. The seat is in very good condition, but is starting to crack by the lower RH corner where the seat vinyl meets the plywood bottom. Primary and secondary clutches have been cleaned and inspected. He installed a brand new Arctic Cat nose cone. All lights, instruments and hand warmers work. To the best of my knowledge it is the first year for the Ext Special in this body style. If nothing else it should be a collectors item. It is not showroom condition by any means, but still a nice sled. He is asking $750.00 for it and I think he is firm on that.
